Just a little update on the saga.

Apparently if Doyle is to be recalled there is only a period of a few days in January in which to do so. This clause applies to 4 out 5 of our loans, presumably to give us time to replace themif necessary.

What is the gut feeling down there about whether he will be recalled by us or not.

Personally, I think he will stay with you. I would like to think I am wrong, and he is recalled by us and he continues banging goals in for fun.

Tbh, nobody has a clue. What I posted earlier confirms there is a recall clause. Obviously we want him to stay but if the boot was on the other foot you’ve got to recall him. I don’t know what our finances are like - or yours - and it’s bound to come down to that one way or another.

Whether he’d fit into the way you play without the need for tinkering would be an aspect. I honestly don’t think you’d recall him just to mess us up. If you recall him, you use him.

I'm struggling to remember a loan signing like this one, its clear he fits your style of play because he has never been anywhere near as prolific as this, i'm not sure how he would fit into a Bowyer set up. We tried all three of Vaughan, Doyle and Donaldson at the same time and it didn't work at all. And i'm pretty sure he would want to remain especially with the abuse he received before he left.
That said i'd expect Bradford would have a fee in mind for the player, Doyle scoring at that rate has raised his bounty significantly, just depends how seriously Swindon want promotion. and how much in monetary terms they are willing to spend. Doyle smashing all expectations has created a problem that i don't think either club would have expected when the move was first done. All depends who holds the best cards, Bradford should because he's our player but he left for financial reasons and i'd expect Swindon to play on that fact. See who folds first.

We would recall him to mess you up. You're top of the league. They're are only 3 spots for automatic places are you're a challenge for them. If you are in 1 then only 2 left.

BRADFORD CITY ARE NOT A CHARITY!!!

In terms of him fitting him into our style. Look, it's not hard. Doyle does his best work in the box. We had playing as a 9 & a 10. We need to get him in the box like you lot do.

He scored goals for us as well in league 1.

As for finances. Risk V reward for both parties. We surely would bring him back if it meant him helping us get back to div 1. We would be utterly foolish not too.

Problem Swindon has is Doyle and Yates are firing goals in and your risk v reward would be on two players as I am sure if you were to keep both the Bradford and Rotherham would look for you to pay 100% of Doyle and Yates wages. One if not both will be recalled.

What I meant was that I doubt you would recall him, with the associated costs, just to mess us up - could you afford to do that? You’d have to play him.

The other factor is the fans. We all know if he gets recalled there is little we can do about it. If you don’t recall him I’d imagine you lot would kick up a stink - and rightly so.

Personally, I don’t think the loan will carry on. We will have to pay you for him.

To be fair Fordy Bowyer likes to go with 4-3-3 and we have looked better playing that way. We tried 4-4-2 but our central midfield opens up like the parting of the red sea, hence Bowyer packing out midfield more. I agree, if finances dictate, that we would take Doyle back but its the reason he left in the first place, Bowyer didn't want to let him go remember it was the player who was more than happy to leave. I would as well if i was receiving that much stick.

How are you using Doyle out of interest? What system does he play in, how are the goals being supplied?

The consensus on here was that he was only underperforming because he didn't have a big target man next to him. I didn't agree with this personally, so it'll be interesting to hear your thoughts...

Doyle coming back would have a knock on effect, him leaving allowed us to strengthen what was a pathetic midfield with 3/4 loan signings. It could well be the case we can't have our cake and eat it, it looks bad with him scoring so many but we wouldn't be in the top 6 without the loan signings that came off the back of him leaving, we would be lower half of the table.

Yeah, the agreement would have to vastly change.

Swindon carried this we've no money line at the start of the season but your recruitment in the loan system has been great and you're top of the league.

Now, if you were near the bottom and not a challenge to us then Doyle would stay but you're a rival to us and both clubs aim to go up. Hopefully both will but Bradford City will look foolish if we don't recall Doyle.

If Swindon have an extremely poor December then he might stay but I doubt you will because you're a good team this season. A danager to us!

They looked poor without him at our place, we gave them the runaround for most of the game.

Palmer can go back for me. Been a let down.

We've players I would be trying to get out of the club. Patrick already gone out on loan.

The club would take the hit either way mate if it meant going up. It's only 5-6 months.

To be honest I don't know what Bowyer likes. He acts scared. He worries too much about who we're playing.

He can still play 4-3-3 with Doyle. Play him in the centre and make sure he's in the box.

Point is Bowyer didn't want Doyle to leave. People have to remember that. He would take him back tomorrow and that has to be factored in!

That was a poor spell for us which we seem to have got through. One thing is for sure, there is no one stand out team this season.

Getting rid of the deadwood is no easy thing - as we are finding out. Apparently, 3 players have taken up 25% of our total budget and only 1 of them is actually playing.

We do seem to play the pauper line a fair bit, yet in the last 2 weeks we’ve signed Caddis and Donohue.

There's a few that offer little on or off the field for various reasons, one of the big handicaps Bowyer has faced all season.

Do you think that would work? Vaughans body language is changing as the season progresses whilst having to play all game with his back to goal, we tried Doyle on his own and it doesn't work. Truth is he's with a manager who has got the best out of him in the last 3 seasons. We don't do prolific goalscorers at Valley Parade, the opposite we kill them off.

Not sure if it would work.

I find Bowyer a negative manager but let's not underestimate him.

Vaughan is getting frustrated and seeing Doyle on 16 goals won't help him.

Bowyer won't see it as a problem with Doyle back. He ha look to his left and if Vaughan, Doyle or Donaldson are on the bench then he knows they can help the team out.

It's not a bad problem mate.

Doyle isn't going to come back to sit on the bench, that ain't gonna happen with the leading scorer in the country. IF he did come back he would have to start and that means changing the way we play. Vaughan and Doyle need to be central, Donaldson can play wider but is still more effective central. Easier said than done just bringing him back and fitting him in.

Doyle will do as the club tells him.

BRADFORD CITY ARE NOT A CHARITY!

It's 5-6 months mate then his contract ends. By the time he comes back he will be on 20 goals for the season. Not many will hit that. So him and his agent are already laughing.

A top manager makes it work mate. Trust Bowyer. It really isn't an issue.
