Said that at the start of the season. If you need four centre backs you also need four strikers. We've got 2 and a half and two are injured. Very short sighted in my opinion and could prove very costly.

Not even slightly arsed about the result, or the crap performances from players we know to be crap.

I'd written off seeing Reeves in a City shirt again. And whilst it's only an hour in a meaningless game, he looked sharp and in good touch. Getting him back into the side would genuinely be like a new, quality signing in an area where we lack depth of quality. It would leave us having to do no more in January than retain what we have, ship a couple of fringe lads out and bring Doyle back.

 

Great result for us. Out of that despicable excuse for a competition and less chance of injuries. Oh and the confirmation of how dire Patrick and Anderson are

 

A large number of fans couldn't care less about this competition but it's another defeat and extra income gone begging. Once again we failed miserably to field a strong enough side such is the squads lack of quality and strength in depth when injuries and illness strike.
Anderson, Patrick and Sykes in the starting eleven,that's like playing with eight from the off.

 

Well that was terrible really, but I suspect we didn't really want to play in this game.

Keeper looked a bit nervous, but didn't really have much to do. Actually, neither did our back four.
Anderson looked like he was somewhere else. Reeves busy and good to see him back. He would have quickly realised that Oteh and Patrick aren't the sort of players to read his passes, and Anderson is not the one to help him out.
Ismael had a decent game, as did Cooke. Lively and forward thinking.
Patrick did ONE thing of note - a lovely nutmeg. That got me all excited (see previous post), but really he looks like he plays the game wearing roller skates. To say I kept getting him, Anderson and Oteh mixed up, doesn't mean I'm a racist, it just means I know a crap player when I see one. Oteh should be fined for that penalty. It was far worse than that young lad earlier on in the competition who missed trying to be cocky.

Subs were as pointless as the second half.

Please Donaldson and Vaughan get fit again. Please O'Donnell don't ever get injured.
