Also Bowyer isn't going to describe him as not being interested and not putting the effort/yards/trees in if he wants him out.

 

Then explain why he was jeered in games for failing to win fifteen-twenty headers in a row, often against smaller full backs from throws?

He was laughed at by those that saw through his sheer lack of fight or battling spirit.

Multiple times, might I add.

 

What about Hopkin? Did he have the same aim or is your reasoning flawed?

Strange thing is, Hopkin did describe other players as not interested and clearly wanted them out, Josh Wright for example.

 

Imagine Swindon buying him in January and then meeting Swindon in the play offs.

I'd take very little of what Hopkin said with any credit.

My reasoning isn't flawed I just judge him (and players) by what I see. I saw very little in Doyle to suggest he wanted to be here, wanted to put in the effort or try to make a difference at the time when we needed players to bust a gut and go the extra mile.

 

Anthony O'Connor got a LOT worse yet according to some he's now our first choice centre back.

Last season was a disaster from start to finish but doesn't automatically define the player.

 

Obviously a different player.

 

Getting there Butterfield.

Now if you'll just address the left back issue you'll be well on the way to redemption.

 

Or just trying to win headers if there is a header to be won.

It's the basic bare minimum for me.

Especially if you're not contributing anything else.

Now let's see, people do realise Vaughan's strike rate only has to marginally improve to match Doyle's stats in a City shirt, right? Few more penalties should do the trick.

Bottom line is, we're not missing anything. However we are giving Swindon a hand - but they're not doing any better than we are, as they have a worse balance and goal distribution.

Honestly, I've never known more over-egged nonsense stemming from jealousy about a team who are performing worse than we are with or without Doyle.

Why bother making intelligent runs into channels and behind the defenders when you can just stand up front and flick it on to, er, no one as you're playing up front on your own and completely isolated.

 

That's kind of the point in all of this. AOC received so much stick after armband gate and has knuckled down and looks, at the moment, like an ok centre half.

Doyle, under Collins, you could agrue/agree that he was playing under someone will very little experience and knowledge and maybe didn't do what he should have been doing to support this guy but he continued under 2 different managers to show the same level of effort/interest.

It doesn't define a player I agree.
