I don't really want or need to debate this ......... But a hint might just be a non-presence of Wardens in a 'certain' location, in addition to no visible tickets, on windscreens ? ;)

I would have thought the council who have plenty of vehicles patrolling the streets
fining people for throwing cigarette ends out of the car window
Would be able to spot any illegally parked cars and act upon it
But the non contact fine them from from a distance way of doing things is much easier
As I said in my previous post the ""legal" motorist is the softest target imagineable

    You could make a request under the Freedom of Information legislation to see if they keep detailed records of;
    • How many tickets issued,
    • Location of tickets issued,
    • How many successfully appealed,
    • If the service has been ‘privatised’ and operates on a ‘bounty’ incentive,
    • What data they keep in respect of other ‘antisocial’ behaviour like throwing cigarettes (and other items) out of a car window.
    • Will they use the profits to put camera’s to identify those that ignore traffic lights and disobey mandatory road signage.
Look forward to the reply you receive.

I remember the discussion about yellow lines, but I wasn't aware of the no loading restriction, which rules out the location for use by those with a blue badge.

I wasn't actually aware I had so many privileges on the road until I read this thread. Thanks for bringing it to my attention, folks. Not to rub it in or anything but doing 50 in a 30 and parking in a space that's most convenient for me even if it's illegal sounds bloody great!

As I don't drive to matches (well, rarely), I'm not familiar with the arrangements; I assume the road closure has been made by means of a Traffic Regulation Order, probably under section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. I wonder what impact, if any, the legal closure of that section of road would have on any parking restrictions.

yes it has been and I asked a copper that same question and he said that the parking by restrictions would still be valid unless they were also removed for the same time period but that very rarely happens

Really can't be bothered wasting time researching into it
And if I did nothing would change
When the council prioritize cigarette butts being thrown out the window when you see illegal tipping all around Bradford that should tell you it's a hopeless cause

That's totally allowed. As are fireworks at any time. And planning permission for the wedding venue is optional.

But if you're called Mavis or Donald and you walk with a stick then you are fair game ;-)

Add to that fiasco the traffic wardens prowling around Ilkley in packs ever since the new parking measures were introduced.

And did you know that the car park in Ilkley takes more money than any other car park in Bradford by over 100k. And guess where all of that money gets spent. Clue. It ain't in Ilkley.
