The article in the T&A suggests it’s a mental problem, and most likely depression. Bowyer quite rightly has an arm around his shoulder and is easing him back in with zero pressure. Seems like he wants jake to want to be here and in amongst the lads, rather than forcing and pushing him, which is exactly the right way to go if it is depression that’s got jake.

Tough times for Reeves, his contract up in the summer, i'd very much doubt anyone would take a risk on a player who as it stands hasn't played for going on two years. I'd like to see in him in a city shirt again but i highly doubt it.

Ive aready said how Bowyer will bring him back and get him match fit the same way as managers do with any player, even after two years.
Whats the point in sending him out on loan I believe his contract is up at the end of this season.
With his situation Bowyer says he will nurse him back and he's correct that should be done by Bradford City not any other club.

I'm sure all of that will be playing on his mind and won't be helping his recovery at all if it is a mental health issue. Bowyer and the club seem to be handling the situation very sensitively by not putting any pressure on him for his return but I can only imagine the pressure and anxiety he must be putting on himself. He knows his contract is up next summer and if he doesn't make a come back soon, he's going to be out on a limb in a few months time. Must be very, very hard for the lad.

After two years? I just don't see it, i've never known a player be out that long and make a successful long term comeback.

If its a mental condition you could be correct as he could have a relapse at any time.
He's 26 years old hardly in his prime with regards fotball, I believe he will be back in football now wether its with Bradford City is another thing as I say I believe his contract is up at the end of this season.

To give the lad a chance no it shouldn't. He will have a club to find soon enough.

His contract is up at the end of the season and he will need to prove his worth. We have promotion to go for.

Loan in Jan suits all parties if he's fit enough.

Agree all if's and but's at the moment BUT IF he does get back and playing as he did before his injury I would think we'd offer him another contract, he'd certainly get into the present side.

    We would be foolish too.

If you ran a business and someone was unable for 2 years would you offer them a new contract?

In life mate a fresh start is sometimes good for all parties.

If I was him I would be looking to go back down south and start again.

As for getting into our side now. If you think a player who hasn't played for nearly 2 years gets into our current side then our midfield must be utter shi&e.

A half fit Jake Reeves would get into our midfield at the moment because our midfield is the weakest area in our team.
Yes sometimes a break away is the best for both parties.

Football in many instances is compleatly different from other business's I would suggest if the club did not think Reeves could get himself fit to play football they would have paid him off by now mutually or otherwise.

Nah things in 2019 are different. Not that easy to pay off or get rid of employees certainly if they've had issues.

Yeah football is worse because the players have money to do things a lot can't.

How are things different we've just paid Scannell off by mutual consent it can be done, maybe the football people involved with Reeves know more about his condition and are prepared to have faith in the kid.

Scannell issue and Reeves issues are totally different.

Don't really want to get into because no one has really come out and said for sure what issue is but if it is what you suggest then the club have to be careful. Laws in your days were different.

Marvin Sordell retired at 26. However he had, had a few decent money moves and was on good money so was arguably in a better position to retire

Yes with a mental health issues the manager and his back room staff can't put a date on when we should see him again, where as with a footballing injury you have an good idea if all goes to plan the player should be back within a certain time span, but we have seen ourselves players are quoted to be coming back around a certain date but have had a set back.

You're saying it's mental health issues but then don't understand the laws and how companies have to be careful.

I just don't understand if it is mental health issues why Bradford City are just not saying it. Billy kee situation is in the open and gets the footballing world support.

For me and my view.. mental health issues should always be in the open. Hiding the situation doesn't help anyone and people need to be more aware of the issues.

I've posted with regards mental and a physical injury, if it is a mental issue that IMO should be between the club and player so we'll agree to disagree.

Any sensitive medical issue is private to that individual. The situation would be worse for those who suffer mental health issues, if they "should always be in the open"

We have no right to know that level of detail, unless the player wants to tell us
