I gather that folk don't like Doyle, but we can't seriously want to ship him out when our only other back up striker is Omari Craptrick, right?

if we get someone else, then fine, but at this stage letting Doyle leave would be a risky move.

We've still got McCartan, can always put Scannell there if needs be or can just play with the one striker.

I'd just get rid as soon as possible. I think some keep forgetting what we'll be sacrificing to accommodate an underperforming striker. We're talking 2 good players for his wage and we're dealing with a player who should be nowhere near the starting 11.

I think he’s poor. And he’s on a big wage. If he goes, what do we lose? That wage could bring in two players needed elsewhere.

Before we worry about cover up front, we need to worry about the lack of quality that’s starting in midfield.

 

could not disagree more. McCartan might be a better option in the first team in behind Vaughan and Donaldson at the moment, but if one of those two get hurt, or suspended, or just plain off form, we don't want to be looking at the bench and thinking well I suppose we could slot in Shay or Scannell, or Patrick.

Doyle is a good poacher, and a very good option to have in League Two.

I know he's on a hefty wage, but unless we go get someone else in we can't let him go.

 

A Swindon ITK seems certain Doyle will be announced today.

Iv'e never understood the logic in prioritising the bench over the first 11.

If you're concerned about a shortage of strike options we can use his wage to bring one in and still have enough left over to address another position.

Surely that's a better alternative to having a high earning, under performing bench warmer on the books?
