I can see this argument and used to agree, but even out of position a professional footballer should have basic ball control, the ability to hold an opposing player off him whilst on the ball and be able to play simple 10 yard passes. He’s displayed none of this, no doubt he’s not in his preferred position but that shouldn’t mean he becomes as useless as he is, it’s not like he’s playing centre back or in net.

Whilst his previous record stacks up, there’s also an argument to be made that he’s done nothing since his blood clot. Maybe it’s effected him long term more than people realise. Whatever it is he looks finished to me, totally inept.

Doyle.

 

Fry shanks off in a little oil in a hot fry pan, just browning all sides, place a a casserole pan. A couple of chopped onions and about 4/5 garlic cloves crushed, fry for a few minutes in the fry pan, put with the shanks. A couple of bay leaves and sprigs of rosemary tucked round shanks. Chopped carrots into the fry pan and a few chopped new potatoes for a few minutes. Put that in with shanks. Lots of pepper and salt. You can put mushrooms and or tomatoes in if you like them. If you like a thickish sauce tablespoon of flour in the frying pan to soak up the rest of the oil the. Into the shanks. Nice bottle of red wine. I would use as much as it takes to cover the meat and veg generously. Save a couple of glasses to have with the finished dish. Cook on 140 c for about 2/3 hours until the meat falls off the bone. Bon appetite.
