Let's say Mcburnie is sold and we get the 3 million. Rupp takes the 2 and we have 1 million left. Has this gone into the player budget already? or do we have that to either strengthen the team now or in January? If so who do we bring in? Or do we bring Bowyer in Mcphillips as his number 2? Or would this be too disruptive now we have gone through a full pre season?

 

Don't need wingers? Scannell at Centre Mid?

I think there are a few on here who just don't understand 4-3-3.

If it goes through we won’t get anything near 3 million for a start the deal which hasn’t been revealed has been described as could reach 20 million over a time so it will depend on a lot of things. We have already had over 300k plus a percentage of loan fees and maybe other add ons as well. It will be a nice sum but well less than 3 million payed over as much as 3 or 4 seasons. So I would say if this transfer goes ahead we will benefit more in the future than the present

Yes Rahic made that very plain at the last fans forum he chaired, the club will know what they are going to receive once the deal is completed so as suggested if Rupp wanted to give Bowyer a better transfer budget now or in January he could knowing he would get his money back in the near future.

 

He played more for Lincoln last season than either Reid or Thompson did for us in 2012/13... and they won the league!

He started half the games and featured in most of the rest for the team that pissed this league last year, and somehow that means he's not good enough as a squad player for us?? Have a word

Not from those who said he wasn't good enough as only started 50% of Lincolns games.

Once pointed out Thompson, McHugh, Reid started less in 12/13 they fell silent. No answer.

McCarten wouldn’t be my first choice forward, but as a fourth choice in league two he’s more than capable. I’d be happy with that, I won’t be happy if Patrick is fourth choice however, unless we plan to only play one striker at a time.

Who we need rid of is Akpan, it’s a position we need to improve, and his wage is stopping us doing it. Not sure we’ll get rid though.

 

Maybe he can’t get one good enough for the right price, or the right attitude, or if he has the club where he is at won’t sell him. Bringing players to the club isn’t like going to the supermarket and picking a good left winger off the shelf.

My feeling is that its outs before ins now, which I have no problem with. There are still guys in the squad that I would rather their wage be given bowyer to spend on his own men.

goal machine mclean was so shit, i remember watching him score that goal where he kinda thighed b2b just fell into the net with it and realised we might not have the predatory striker I'd hoped for.

 

McCartan may have done well for Lincoln, and may have made x appearances more than y, but that’s at Lincoln. Didn’t McCall release a statement that Shay is overawed by the size of the crowd at VP and that’s what’s hindering his progress/performance with Bradford City? If that’s the case, it doesn’t matter what league we’re playing in if we’re getting over 10k each home game.

 

But if we structure any payments on players in a similar way that’s ok.
