Just got back Liverpool stroked it about beautifuly the first half positives were Gibson and Palmer who did well. We won the second half against a weaker Liverpool side and there were a few good performances I thought Riley did well ( don’t know what he did to be left out all last season) Wood also did well as did our central defenders Hornby looks decent as well

 

I only watched on telly but thought Hornby commanded his box well.

 

There were a few Liverpool shirts in the Kop some with people with new city shirts on. The funniest thing I saw was someone with the Toy city shirt on how old is that

To be fair we got everybody bar Donaldson behind the ball second half so Doyle was in midfield

 

I thought Palmer was the pick of the City players, he looks a very good addition to the midfield ranks.

French did very well for a player who has never played anywhere near football league level before, very promising based on today

Vaughan and Donaldson will be a right handful for any league 2 defence

Riley looked good, based on that performance, you have to wonder why he has been nowhere near the team for 10 months or so, is it an attitude problem?

Would love to see a tenacious midfield battler to come in and play alongside Palmer and a left winger

 

palmer will keep us ticking over nicely, some really good passing today.


Doyle was shit again, that was my only gripe on what was a great day all round.

 

I had a small hope that Akpan would be that tough bastard in midfield but he was atrocious today. And there's no excuse of the opposition because others stepped up well.

 

Couldn't make it today but looking at the pictures that king Karl
posted we should be very proud. Think Liverpool might have been impressed.

 

Left at half time to watch the cricket. First half didn't think we played bad at all, in fact I think 3-0 flattered them due to soft goals, obviously thy were far superior on the ball but that was to be expected. I expected us to get hammered like Tranmere so 3-1 is very respectable.

It was all secondary however, we all know what the importance of the game was.

if its an original that is one old shirt. Never kept any of mine as from being a kid, the earliest i remember having is the 86 one, still my favourite. I wore that shirt till it literally fell to bits.
