Transfer Rumours 2019/20

Its a difficult one the likes of McCartan, Reeves, Robinson, Scannell, Riely, Mellor for various reasons had a very poor season.
Bowyer has said its a clean slate and up to whoever we have of the above to show that they are not lost causes, add the new young faces that have done well at their last level they have played at and are yet to prove they can make the transition to league two level.
The likes of Donaldson Vaughan and O'Connor won't have a problem if they sign, I'm pleasently confident Bowyer will assemble a squad that is capable of challenging for at least a play off place.
Very early days but we are starting to look a professional football club again even down to the pre-season schedule being sorted before we kick a ball in anger.
We even have a couple of our fellow BT members trying to help sell the club to disgruntled fans after the mess Rahic left our club in, feeling very positive.

 

Not saying that. But there is a difference between an opinion, i.e. I think this is a good signing etc and claiming it to be fact, i.e. this IS a solid defence. You do understand this right?

As an example, I know O’Connor is gash. I know Mellor is a good player, if he stays fit. And I’m hopeful that Longridge is the left-back we have needed. But saying they ARE a solid defensive unit isn’t an opinion

 

Ah but I didn’t. I said “what looks to be” a solid defence. No where did I say it is solid and will be. And I’ve given you my reasons why I think it looks to be solid.

And I also said “with Paudie coming in”. So I was including him in the fact in regards to our defence. If he didn’t sign and we didn’t sign another CB I’d reassess it.

Assessing signings is an impossible task as
however well or badly thought of by previous
clubs fans,we never know until they play for
us and see how they fit in.

The difference with this summer window and
last summer is we have,in my opinion,a manager
who knows what he's doing and I'm hopeful he
Will build a "team" so there is room for optomism.

Signing Donaldson and possibly Vaughan,means I
believe,he's looking for nous in a player.Clever and
able to read the game quicker but I also think we need
one maybe two creative midfielders to go with our
wingers and if they all stay,we should score some goals!

O’Donnell turned down WBA to sign for us in the summer. Most keepers will have been made to look shite in front of that back four.

Hornby is tipped as one of the best keepers in L2, but only kept out by L2’s best goalie in Scot Brown - according to a L2 forum.

Mellor didn’t look solid? Guess what, no player did last season. Promotion with ‘Pool the other year prior and has a real eye for goal. What’s not to like?

O’connor is the weak link, but I can’t see him being apart of our back four. The lad from Accy won promotion from this league the season before last. The young lad, French, is back-up. Calm down.

Lastly, the attack I refer to was relating to your poor choice of wording, just because someone else holds a different opinion.

Vaughan is gonna be on a lot of wages. He's 30, but last season at Pompey played ten times without scoring.
Considering both him and Donaldson aren't the most mobile of players, I'm really hoping that we bring in either a pacy central midfielder, or a creative one that can supply them both.
Happy with the signings so far, definitely a mark of intent that we're looking for a blend of hunger and experience to ensure we're at least in the top half of the table from the off this season.
