This is a really good forum and it is working well, Why try to fix something that is not broken?

BTW most of the drivel and hate posts and the deterioration of the use and quality of posts and poster on the old site was because of the dislike and poop buttons etc, LEAVE WELL ALONE

 

It was the fault of the little pictures of cartoon turds and not the fact that grown adults couldn't cope with light hearted criticism?

This is a good forum that is far better than its predecessor lets leave it that way, I pay towards the site but would not pay towards a site like the old message board and am sure many supporters would feel the same,

 

There's already been a vote so I'm not sure why people try to second guess how others feel about the ratings.

 

We need a confirmatory vote just like the remainers want

 

There was an option on C & B where posters could disable the option to give/receive ratings. An easy solution for @Bronco @BoingBoing and @trevor who don't want to use them.

The rest of us meanwhile will just get on with it.

Hang on, just like Brexit, do folk know what they are voting for? Something like “Ratings ye or nay” doesn’t actually conform what type of ratings we are talking about.

I’ve already agreed with you that we should have ratings such as “Agree” or “Disagree”. Even “Like” or “Dislike”. But there is no need for emoji ratings. They add no value whatsoever. So if I was voting for the aforementioned ratings, I’d answer ‘yes’ to the poll. But if you were asking for a free-for-all style rating, I’d be vehemently against...!

 

Or the fact that the said ‘grown adults’ couldn’t manage a proper debate and instead just threw childish emojis at others?

If you can’t offer a debate on a forum, I’d suggest that forums are not the place for you.

 

Does that include calling people "dicks" when you disagree with their posts?

At least an emoticon isn't directly abusive like some of your replies.

And as for calling someone a ‘dick’, I actually told him to stop being a dick. Besides, it is done with now, so you don’t need to bring it up again..!

He's making some very valid points.

 

The point is that you openly state that you don't want ratings because you feel they can be used in a way you interpret to be abusive yet in written form you're more than happy to abuse other posters.

Do you see the hypocrisy or am I wasting my time here?

 

Sometimes the problem with emojis was you could only give one. This for example needs a winner, funny, agree, like and a thumbs up.
