First choice keeper? Or ROD still number 1?

    Implies maybe no2....

“At 24 years old, he is at a good age to really progress his career.

“I was encouraged when he said he would not come in to be a number-two. He is ready to play games.”

Bowyer trolling the Cow's Arse forum by pretty much only mentioning his height.

They struggle to see height as relevant over there from what I've read.

    Good fishing, Gary!

Might end up splitting the GK duties similar to how we did with duke and mcloughlin. Whether thats a good thing or not, im not sure, but if he is of similar ability (cant say ive heard of him personally) im all for a bit of competition.

Edit: just seen on wiki that he didnt play a league game for port vale last season so im guessing he is a cheap number 2, wonder if GSK isnt progressing as well as expected

Either our scouting has really kicked up a few notches..... or we're really fishing in the sh*t pool.

I think it’s more of an appreciation that there is more to being a good player than simply being tall, young and whatever hungry means.

    Sh*t pool so far.

You can tell by offering Anderson and the likes contracts.

I don't mind this signing though.

Unless ROD leaves then we can't really sign a out and our number 1. So this new signing should give him competition.

Even if not number one, if O’Donnell gets that nod, it’s good to have a solid number 2 for a change. Makes a change from sattlemair etc.

Riley was ex man utd, goal machine mclean was from Hull, reece brown and the other guy ex man utd and they were all PANTS. The point being that where we get them from matters feck all provided they can play.

V much agree on this one, hes either gonna be a solid back up or push o donnell out the number one spot so v encouraging. Vale fans commending his professionalism in the face of limited opportunities (take note riley!) and saying hes only a back up because scott browns in the form of his life so I'll take that

There are plenty of keepers around who are worse than O'Donnell...

Port Vale finished 20th in League Two last season, if we are signing their backup keeper as our first choice then I'd be seriously worried.
