Agree I don't think Bowyer is big fan of O'Donnell's, it's down to the lad to show Bowyer how he can perform with regards him wanting the shirt.

If Port Vale can land a great keeper like Scott Brown (who from his record appears to have spent most of his career in league two), then why can't we sign such an illustrious keeper as our number 1?

For the record I think he is here as a solid backup option, I'm not trying to have a go at the lad, I hope he proves me wrong and turns out to be the best keeper in league two. I just don't understand why people think he should be O'Donnell's replacement.

It does beg the question, if Scott Brown is so great why don't we just sign someone of his caliber instead to be our first choice?

If we signed one of Macclesfield Town's backup strikers would you be reassured by their fans stating that he was only been kept out of their side by the brilliant form of Harry Smith? Or would you think "hang on a sec, if that's the case why didn't we just sign Harry Smith or someone of equivalent ability?". These teams are going to be our rivals next season, we want their best players, not their backup players as our first choice.

Not about experience more about ability hopefully there has been some good scouting here. Providing he stays O’Donnell will compete but it wouldn’t surprise to see Hornby start

He is still shown on the club website but that could be wrong as it has Andy Todd - assistant manager.

Third choice? How on earth do you come to that conclusion? The lad rejected a contract extension at Vale because he didn't want to continue as back up keeper there. He isn't going to come here as third choice is he?

No Bowyer says he liked the fact when he signed that he had come to play

I thought Bowyer dropped O’Donnell to put the other lad in the shop window to try move him on and free up funds in budget. It worked when Coventry signed him.

This new keeper must be on even less so, like we’ve done with French and the Accrington lad, we’ve filled a position on less money.

I still think O’Donnell will be no. 1 unfortunately.

Wilson's contract was up at the end of the season. There was no need to put him in the shop window.

Hang on hang on we are the BIGGEST club in League 2 by a,long chalk he'd come here for just that !, let alone a first team spot ? Choice Port Vale No 2 or City No 3 with Bowyer hinting at a route to the No 1 spot ? ..where do I sign gaffer ?

We were already down though so GB did him a favour by getting him gametime that goes straight onto Wyscout and looks better than cameos in the cup at start of the season.

He might well have done him a favour, but it wasn't done to free up funds as he was leaving anyway.

Not really it's just as things are ...nothing outlandish or overstated there? . The lad wants to move up ! If he's not going to League 1 yet then he would see us as his least worst option for now. Better No 3 at City than No 2 at another League 2 club ? .Good luck to him.

Few getting ahead of themselves on this new keeper, from a 4th tier club whom is second choice and has played 11 league games in total at 24.

11 games, 1 clean sheet and 22 conceeded.

Last league game, 5-0 defeat to Cambridge in May 2018

Feel a bit sad about George SK. As I mentioned a few weeks ago, has he gone off the boil? He was touted to be a rising star. Hopefully we'll send him out on loan this season so he can cut his teeth (hopefully his hair too) in some actual matches.

Ever thought of a career as a motivational speaker? I hope the lad has a great pre-season and is pushing for that number 1 slot, shouldn't we all really want this to be the case?

Best way to judge without seeing for yourself is looking at what fans of other fans say about him and it's all positive

Actually ...that's closer than you might know ? But I agree hope he does well and makes No 1. But he's not been signed as that. Neither is ROD No 1 ? Bowyer will have another Keeper planned. ROD on the way out on loan.
