They'd have a job on if they were using this forum and our opinions to see if they have a good signing or not.

 

New signings so far have been some what underwhelming and surely squad fillers.

Young lad from non league will hopefully work long term but we need some quality still.

Lot of work to do.

It is a shame about Hornby as he was certainly a great backup to have given the praise he has received from reserve and Checkatrade matches. Given Browns performance it was always going to take something special to oust him as number 1 though.
Good luck to Sam. A decent backup for us, who I'm sure would have had more chances at any other club in the league this season. Are we entitled to compensation, given his age and the fact we offered him a contract? I know it would only be buttons, but it is better than nothing.
One thing that really bothers me.......BRADFORD...........AGAIN.. ......they always seem to pinch players off us!

Sorry to see Sam go but it would be unfair on him to keep him here. He's too good to be a number 2 - a really good move for him too

I'll concede I'm blooming clueless how it all came to this ? But that said there's two when O'Donnell goes !?

 

I'll reserve full judgement till i've seen him play but doesn't take much to get our lot excited does it? 11 games so far at football league level and some on here are seeing him as a direct replacement for Richard O'Donnell who has played over 200 games at league one and championship level. I know ROD struggled last year but tell me a player that didn't and yet some are writing him off as a poor keeper.
Hornby should be competing for the number 1 jersey but O'Donnell should be the starting keeper next season, forget last season as it was a freak season.

 

I think OD will be shipped out, we'll get another number one in, and this lad will be number 2. Probably (hopefully) a lot going on behind the scenes.
What do they mean "Bradford again"? I can think of Lee Mills and maybe Billy Knott. Who else did we take from them? Oh wait. Marshall too. Maybe they have a point!

 

I agree. After signing a 3? year deal he'd have been hoping to progress and play a few games - FL trophy perhaps or whatever it is these days.

 

Vale likely would include Alex Jones in that list too..

I have got more chance of scoring with one Alex Jones than the other Alex Jones has of scoring

 

Seeing a lot of people over exaggerating about what people are saying about the quality of players and how excited they about them. I don't see any one really over the moon at the signing just think he could be a good addition to the squad...

 

I think the general feeling is that any signing we make this season can't be any worse than the ones we made last season. If they actually genuinely want to be here as well then that's a bonus.

 

Sort of agree Petrov, I don't really have an opinion until we know what hapens with ROD. Vale fan seems to like him though..

 

Alex Jones has a decent strike rate. The physician with him is that his joints are made of glass!

 

Cambridge manager said he wouldn’t be at all surprised to see Jones back with them for pre season.

 

Good luck to the lad. I thought he looked decent when fit and would definitely get goals at this level.
