City lost 5 - 0 against Swansea, in a League Cup final. A fourth division Club, down to 10 men, against a deserving Premier League side, where our many loyal fans sang their hearts out, long beyond the final whistle.
Today, many will have witnessed Man City destroying a fellow Premier League Club 6 - 0 in the FA Cup final, with 11 players in both sides, to the end.
Strange to some, it may seem, but I feel a sense of glowing pride, knowing and seeing how City battled to get to Wembley, and still put up what fight we could when we got there.
If Gary Bowyer can build half of such a squad, I'll be more than pleased, knowing our future will look brighter than it does currently. :)

Yep, can maybe rebuild a team and give it character that we can get behind, rather than a team of loanees we won't see next year

I think Man City cheapened themselves a bit. Game won. Goal difference doesn’t count. Sometimes a bit of modesty and respect for your fellow professional does no harm. I respect Swansea for not really battering us

Don't think you can blame man city for going for the jugular. There's no mercy law in football and as a decent premier league team Watford should've done much better

If they'd let up they'd be disrespecting Watford though.

I disagree. They Man City, had the opportunity to become utter legends, if they had won 7-0. So why not go for it.

You can win, and win well, without scoring more than you need to. Man City could have showcased their talent more than they did, with just a 3 - 0 victory.

We had the same last year, Harrogate did not need to put 7 past us they could have shown us some respect and stopped at 3 :(

Swansea and Millwall..I will never forget that immense feeling of 'brotherhood' and I have to say,I cried with pride at witnessing my City at Wembley. To be cherished as those moments don't come around too often do they. But who knows, next season? Hope is good. :)

I'm sure if you asked the most successful managers and players in the game the question 'what's the secret to your success?' they would all answer that it's making sure you don't score more than you need to.

With us in the past season, more a case of us not letting in more than we need (as we weren't being successful) ;)

Modesty comes after the final whistle. Until that point winners keep ploughing through regardless.

There's plenty of reasons Man City are the first English team to complete the domestic treble and I bet the word "modest" doesn't feature in any of them.

What an absolute load of rubbish. You play to win and however much that may be by.

It’s a professional sport. I’d be more annoyed if they slackened off just to make it “look closer”

Agree totally, also with Man City when you strive to build such a winning mentality it is not easy to just switch it on and off - to be honest it might have a detrimental effect if you start allowing that to happen.
Watford had to score first when they were very much in the game, or straight after half time when they had another good spell - need to remember too these were 2 Premier teams, not Prem and League 2

Don’t hold back. Say what you feel lol. I don’t think I have ever said you don’t play to win. If it had been against a rival I would have said go for it as creates psychological damage for next year. Watford aren’t a rival and aren’t one of the usual finalists. Therefore I think there are odd occasions when you can show an element of mercy. You are being simplistic which I think suits you and spreading my point to apply to all games and occasions which is clearly not where I’m coming from.

The game of football never changes. You have 90 minutes to win and score as many as you can. As professionals you train for hours a week for that 90 minutes. And you say hold back?

    Why? Dire attitude.

Manchester City take pitty on no one as Burton and Nigel Clough can vouch for.

The fans will always want their team to score
as many goals as possible.Celebrating goals
is probably the best thing about watching your
    team.
