Swansea lost just shy of a million quid a week before player sales in 17/18. That’s in the premier league. That’s not going to have got much better after relegation. I’d say they’d probably find £30m quite handy.

True. They are in unaffordable debt though. Well publicised cost savings going on

Barca are spending 105m on a player and are in mega debt.

    Most football debt is manageable.

Bradford City act like they do because it's an excuse not to spend but to be far to Rhodes and Lawn when they owned the that they said that they couldn't afford to run the club. Massive difference.

    Owner couldn't afford it.

Needed to be honest like Lawn and Rhodes.

Sunderland can be in the same situation if they don't go up but at least their own is looking for funds.

We haven't got a clue about Mr Rupp's situation

How about recently Released Will Keane from Hull City or ask about the availability of James Wilson who is out of contract at Manchester United and at 23 still has a lot to offer after bursting on to the scene a few years ago

Do you really think either will want to take the down escalator to League Two? Both will be looking for Championship at best, League One if not signed up by August.

Way out of our league. The lowest I can see Keane coming down to is returning to Ioswich and signing permanently for them

Wilson probably end up at somewhere like Wigan or Preston

Need to be a bit more realistic. Richards-Everton is probably the nearest we will get to a marquee signing this summer!

Think we've had enough rubbish from Man United, and Hull come to that ;).

The only way we will sign anyone with anything to do with a premiership team is if their name contains one

Exactly. Liverpool had a truly outstanding season, yet due to two draws, fell just short in the run in.
Meanwhile, our own 'Sadford City' recorded their worst season in my lifetime, on and off the pitch :(
League 2 to the Championship is now a Hell of a mountain to scale.

I thought he stayed rooted on the line too much and not come enough for crosses. Based on O'donnell last season not much to choose. Go for the cheapest option.

Not read much of the McBurnie stuff above, but on the same lines Bristol City have just sold a lad who’s played one season for £13m, £15m would be a minimum Swansea sell a 20 goal+ Championship striker for, a Burnley or similar will pay that all day.

Swansea had £15.3m of debt at the end of last 17/18, of which £8.5m needs repaying this August. I gather they were set to lose £60m in 18/19 year but have already offset that with £30m of player sales last summer (which brings a further bonus of wage reduction as well as transfer fees). They were rumoured to be in £30m of debt after Christmas but it has probably crept up since then. It still looks like they'll need to sell at least one player to meet the August payment but another £10m+ of sales might well be needed to reduce debt to a reasonable level. There was talk of an equity fundraising to achieve the same but I think nothing has happened. It does tend to make it look very likely that McBurnie will be sold.

The problem with being reliant upon Swansea selling McBurnie is that City will not receive anything owing until after/late on in the transfer window. Bowyer will have been given his budget and will presumably work round that. Any bonus will almost certainly be too late to have an effect this summer.

Think I would rather Swansea sell McBurnie next season or in Jan.

I want to Rupp's vision & intentions first.
