Christ. It's like Groundhog day! A manager saying how shocked he is at what player agents are quoting, that we'll have to be prudent and bigging up other clubs who'll be much more competitive than us! Fylde!!!! FFS....Fylde would be more competitive than us?! Amazing considering Rupp and Ruin were the men to take is to the next level financially. To fund a Championship level club. Im for one am sick of hearing it.

If Mr Rupp doesn't get his hand in his pocket, this club will be worse less than nothing next year! An alleged €130m+ worth will surely make our chairmen one of the richest in league. Bloody use some of it to rectify that dick heads mistakes or sell the club to someone who will spend!

If we cant even keep Andy Todd on as a coach of which Bowyer is clearly gutted about, then that's a bloody poor poor start!!!

To be honest this has no effect at all in my opinion. The more expensive they become, the more fans would not renew, so incone generated would probably be similar.

    Spot On
The club is worth nothing now no assets no players and a rapidly dwindling good will
GB must be having doubts at this early stage in the re build
If at the moment we are fearing the mighty Fylde then National league North may well be our level

We’ve had the debate on here numerous times and I still have a view that as long as is timed and managed appropriately, there wouldn’t be a drop - not a significant one anyway. We’re ruled by an outdated and fearful mindset.

Bottom line - unless we find a way to ensure our match going fans continue to go, and start to pay the going rate - or unless our owner props our budget up on an ongoing basis - we ain’t going to compete with ‘smaller’ clubs.

It feels to me like we’re a completely directionless club, lacking in strategy and leadership. We’ll be pinning our hopes on Bowyer ‘doing a Parky’, I.e. running all aspects of the club to something like a professional standard.

I guess like in the PP days, we have a good manager who is used to working on a shoe string, with a certain degree of success. Ultimately we need to give him a chance and just see what magic he can produce with what budget he has. In addition, we should probably give him a chance to get rid of these other wage thiefs we currently have contracted, to get a true picture of what hell have to play with.

All that aside, we need to be assembling a squad consisting of the best that Non League/L2 has to offer, blended with talent from L1(a la Luton) if we are in fact to achieve anything this season. The fact that Bowyer has gone on record to say he is disappointed his No2 has gone, doesn't make for good reading at this early stage. A solid / trusted backroom is pivotal for any successful managerial team. If we cant afford to put this in place first, how the hell are we supposed to attract any of the above, which will be needed to be successful in an ever more competitive L2?!

Surely it's in Rupps interest to get us back up at the first attempt if only to sell the club for something approaching what he paid for it. No better time to dog a little deeper Stefan, itll get more and more expensive every year to build a squad capable of achieving. That's football.

The only way we will sustain our current core of 13500 supprters paying much higher prices is if we ever get to the Championship. That looks a million miles away

I disagree with the first bit. Should we achieve promotion next season, we could put prices up to £199 and gates wouldn’t drop. A promising season, where we just miss out, but have the foundations of a squad likely to go one better the next year, we could go to 175 and gates wouldn’t drop.

It’s about timing, selling a ‘product’ that people see as value and demonstrating a positive journey that fans can buy into.

You are right higher prices equals lower gates equals lower money from retail catering and sponsorship

How do you know that higher prices equals Lower gates?

If we’d put prices up to 200 quid after the playoff final (or before, when prices were announced), do you think gates would have dropped? If we bounce straight back next season, with a good side based around some talented young players, likely to improve further, and we put our prices up to 199 quid with a marketing strategy about going after back to back promotions etc, do you think gates would drop?

Possibly. Would definitely have to be done on the back of a promotion. A lot on here wouldnt baulk at paying higher prices, its the new support we attracted since Lawn and Rhodes introduced it. Dont forget, our support increased dramatically because of the policy, despite just been relegated, and of course the McCall factor

And that’s my point. It’s not a binary equation of higher price = lower gates. It’s a combination of price, quality, experience and enjoyment of games, chances of success over the coming season. Like all consumer purchases, people base their decision on VALUE rather than simply the price. It’s madness to assume that the same people willing to pay 150 quid for a side relegated in such abject fashion and without such a repair job ahead, wouldn’t be willing to pay an extra 50 quid for a successful and entertaining side. It’s a nonsense.

There’s no way we could have put prices up this summer and the onus is on the owner to invest what’s necessary to give us a quality ‘product’ that people will then pay more for.

Because edin rahic was running the show. Nothing to do with the price increase.

You think gates dropped because of a 20 quid price rise? Not because people saw what Rahic was up to and what lies ahead? As far back as March last year numerous fans predicted relegation the following season.

Absolutely right. I know myself if I saw that we had a plan, ambition and were moving in the right direction I would happily pay more for my season ticket. But if they put the prices up in conditions like this where the club is totally unambitious and unprofessional I wouldn't be willing to.

The last point is a good one - as a short term strategy to increase our fan base, it was smart move. The next smart move is to leverage that larger fan base by teasing up prices at appropriate times so we can grow revenue.

This idea that bradfordians are so much more sensitive to pricing than ANYWHERE else in the country, that we’ll come in numbers to watch shite as long as it’s cheap, but we’ll baulk at the idea of paying a little more for more quality, is ridiculous.

If we'd have put them down £20 they'd still have dropped.

So 'higher prices' 'equal lower money' and 'sponsorship'. Yes?

So as I have asked before to the wider community. Who is the new ground sponsor (we may have one? I'm not certain but not seen one announced) within these cheap season tickets?

    https://www.bradfordcityfc.co.uk/news/2016/july/bradford-city-announce-northern-commercials-as-new-stadium-sponsors-in-landmark-deal/

This sponsorship deal is now ending.

    The one that states excitedly

Bradford City Football Club are delighted to announce that they have today agreed a deal for the stadium naming rights of Valley Parade in a deal that has the potential to be the biggest of its type in the club's history.

In addition to the stadium sponsorship, Northern Commercials will continue their sponsorship of the Midland Road stand, enhancing the already strong relationship between the two parties.

So, if I am reading correctly, we may well have no ground sponsorship, no midland Road sponsorship. Who sponsors the Kop these days? I'm not aware of sponsorship and the club is actively promoting for sponsorship.

    Screenshot_20190511_105719_com.adobe.reader.jpg

So, do higher season ticket prices actually stand up to the theory of lower sponsorship?

I'm not surprised the culling at Valley Parade has started.
