He's sh&te anyway.

 

Let him play in the reserves (do,we even have a reserve team) train by himself and give him plenty of time to realize how much he has ruined his own career
OR
He could realize that the BCFC he left shows no resemblance to the current set up
Work hard and try to command a regular place to progress his career
The decision is every bit as much his as ours

 

So if he takes the first option it costs us another £250k and he still doesn’t play for us.

 

Pretty much that's it unless you have any other options ???
He won't want to ruin his career so may be just the "encouragement" he needs
Regardless of the cost to us it would be sink or swim for him
Hopefully he would want to up his game for us to attract any other interested clubs
should he be hell bent on leaving

Easy for people to say get rid for free.If they'd paid
£200/250k of their money, would they be so keen to
do that?

 

This where the players and agents carry far too much power in the game

The best thing to do if he returns is to show him we are not too bothered and let him prove he is worth his transfer fee or just let him ruin his career and slide into oblivion

 

Would you rather pay out another £250k this season for someone not performing, or maybe a cut price £50/100k to send him on loan somewhere. Or let him leave and spend nothing more on him?

 

We've messed him around loads, no chance he'll want to play for us ever again. Better of cutting costs and letting Lincoln have him.

 

A lot of people are assuming Lincoln want him. There is no guarantee they would even take his contract over with no transfer fee involved

 

we won't get a fee for McCarten. we'll let him go there for nothing.

 

Then he plays for us. He wouldn't be the worst player for league 2.

 

I think the point is that he doesn’t want to be here and the club don’t want him. Maybe GB will work his magic on him and he will stay and score but I wouldn’t put money on it

 

The point is people are throwing a player away without even
waiting to see if a deal can be done with Lincoln or whoever.
I agree agents are a problem but as we are not financially
able to just write off his transfer fee we should do all we can to
get something for him.Money in will help who we get to buy.

The best thing to do if he does return is encourage him and see
If there is the player in there that we paid a big fee for by our
standards.

Fans pay their money and are entitled to criticise but some do so
without cause,e.g.O'Brien when he signed.Made of the right stuff
as we found out he was determined to show us he was a good player.
That's an atribute a few others could aspire to.

I think the McCarten situation will evolve into a fee coming our way.
Lincoln may play hard ball but I think other clubs will come in for him,
the more the merrier.

 

Firstly I would rather see someone who knows what they are doing spending
the club's money.Secondly I don't want a player who doesn't want to play
for City and thirdly,I would like to see us try all options with McCarten before
accepting his signing on fee has been written off.
