oh for a bit of that within our squad

100% agree and said something similar yesterday on another thread. Bowyer is looking at a complete clear out over the summer, fresh faces and players that actually want to be here. The last thing we need is to bring into that equation is someone who clearly does not.

 

He's only saleable IF someone wants to buy him. The fact that BCAFC paid a large fee for him is irrelevant.
Whichever way you cut it he's costing money.
Keep him, carry on paying his wage for a year, or send him out on loan and hope you don't have to subsidise his wages too much, or pray someone thinks the next Jamie Vardy and pays a fee.

 

Lincoln want him and there were others is couple of windows back who were interested. We are not well enough off to turn down money if Lincoln want him let them pay.

 

Lincoln need to decide whether he is good enough for L1 first
and he is untried at that level

Bowyer might not want rid he may speak to the player and try and persuade him to stay. If not let him go at a price

 

But not all their players are actually ours

We would be better off letting them take over his contract for nothing

 

If they are willing to pay a fee, even a nominal one, then great, but sometimes you just have to cut your losses and move on.

 

Why would Bowyer want to add a player that doesn't want to be here to his dressing room full of new, enthusiastic players that do?

 

Lincoln are in the driving seat with this one. Bradford are stuck with a player who clearly doesn't want to play for them and Lincoln can look elsewhere if needed. If Lincoln really are that desperate for him i guess the best Bradford would get would be a token gesture of a transfer fee.

There are a couple of issues that need to be decided here.

Firstly do we ask a fee?
Secondly do Lincoln want him, and if so pay a fee
Thirdly will he take a pay cut.

Now the third one could be the important one if he is to leave.

From my understanding we are covering part of his wage. If he was to leave that would stop. That would save us about £100k next season, £2k a week. If he returns and doesn’t play it would cost us even more in wages.

Lincoln could only sign him if he drops into their wage structure which apparently he currently sits outside of. That would mean him accepting less money. If he is not willing to do that the only way for us to sell him would be to pay him off, so not only might we not get a fee we might actually have to pay him to leave

 

Not just wages that could end up costing us. Never underestimate the destructive influence of a player that does not want to be at the club.
