Gary Bowyer

So Parker reporting this morning that whoever the new manager is, it's only until the end of the season. When will we ever learn?

 

His record is steadying ships and the Blackpool season he took them straight back up, saved Blackburn also, just because he’s called Gary and sounds a bit dull, he’s getting written off already, Zzzzzzz.

 

I wasn’t particularly encouraged by any of the names in the picture but Bowyer’s credentials seem as good as anyone’s. It’s looking like an appointment to get us back up from L2 more than one to keep us in L1 which is probably the pragmatic approach. We look beyond saving at the moment so it’s probably for the best.

Good luck to him, he’ll get my support.

No manager has been able to change this clubs mentality for the best part of two season and some naively think the new manager will have us in play off form for the last eleven games. Ain't happening folks, we don't have a squad of players good enough. Theres a difference between not giving up and not being good enough, doesn't mean you don't give up trying but ultimately its pointless.

 

Evans failed on his last two jobs with good backing, what evidence is there to suggest he is a better candidate than anyone else?

 

I'm not happy if it's only a deal to the end of the season. The last thing we need is to be managerless in the summer yet again.

That worked out well.

That said, I’m not surprised it’s only till the end of the season. If we do go down, who knows what position this club will be in? If it were my business i probably wouldn’t be committing anyone any further until I had clarity of what the foreseeable has in store. There is so much uncertainty about this club right now. Let’s get the next 11 games done with ASAP and go from there.

Good luck to them with trying to push the season tickets to those fans who are still deliberating about whether to renew.

I hope our powers that be based their decision on the passion, drive, belief of the people they met and they picked the best person, the one who was the most convincing and the one who gave concrete reasons as to why he can keep us up.

Me too. Here we go again, with a summer looking for a manager, who then doesn’t know the players or what he might bring in, and onit goes.

 

They are still thinking there is a chance, and there is, but these players are burnt out!!

 

Agree pretty much with the above, if it is bowyer then why isnt there the scope to go beyond the end of the year, all that it means is, is that we are scratching around again all summer, firstly to secure a manager and then to secure players when everyone else is planning now

 

Evans aside he’s the best on an uninspiring list.

I’ve no problem with it being just till the end of the season. Probably quicker to get over the line and let’s be fair we can’t wait another day

 

We’ve tried the bullying with Hopkin and previously Grayson. It doesn’t work, particularly with this group. The defence is the worst I’ve seen and what they need is taking out of the firing line, but we don’t have the players to do so.
