The bright side has been Caddis. Excellent crosses and workrate. Also gives a shit - been in the the ears of the oppo all game, and is trying to gee up the rest of the team.

We just can't play with 26 midfielders and Doyle wandering around aimlessly by himself.

Miller has to play to give options because neither Payne nor Clarke are forwards.

 

Strange subs.

Miller should have been on much sooner.

Walsall will probably sack their manager and beat us next week now

It takes some doing to build a more toothless attack than Hanson/Clarke.

But we've done it.

 

Can’t fault the performance in the second half. Took the game to them and should have scored at least one goal. We pressed high up the pitch and played some nice passing football to create some decent chances in the final third. Just a shame we didn’t get the goal to win the game and also a shame that we didn’t play like that first half.

A note on Chicksen, I thought this was the best game I’ve seen him have. Made some great tackles/blocks, put a couple of great crosses into the box, his overall distribution was good and he was generally solid in both attack and defence.

 

I fear, that's us done.

 

One up front at home in a must win game as done for me. Yes the wide men were getting forward but we never had that other body where we needed it. Very strange subs, akpan especially, didnt help. Hopkin can go for me

We were awful in the 1st half:

Their keeper had one save of note to make. Ball also hit the post.

We pressed and we tried. But we’re completely toothless. No width, no penetration, no presence in the box. Unless Payne weaves a bit of magic, we’ve got nothing.

 

People forgetting that they hit the post also.

 

A good performance today with some lovely football.
However a point on this occasion isn't enough.
Surprised Payne was taken off however his replacement had a very good chance and was unlucky not to score

 

Plymouth, bar Carey and Lameiras, were a poor side. Offered very little as an attacking side. That said, we offer little as a goal threat and its killing us. We played better second half but could hardly play any worse than that first half. 1 point from 2 winnable home games and a tough run of fixtures coming isn’t a good sign.

 

Why were you surprised, he takes him off at 82 minutes every game

 

• Thought it was a tactical masterpiece to replace Doyle with Miller in the 90th minute, pure genius

Should've been on at 75min mark not 90 min

 

So from two games, where 4 if not 6 points were imperative we have got 1. That makes walsall shit or bust for me with the run of games we have coming up. We could be out of it and heading for league 2 before easter
