If true, why have we just signed a right-back to potentially play as a left-wingback?

Even if we were going with 3/5 at the back, assuming we start with McGowan, A.O’Connor and NKP, wouldn’t Mellor (now fit again) and Chicksen be enough cover should anything happen to any of them? (Not saying Chicksen would be one of the 3 CBs, but he could play as left-wingback, allowing Callum Woods to slot into the back3. Still don’t think we’d need P.O’Connor?

 

You understand that Woods played left back for Huddersfield Town when Jack Hunt locked down the right back position?

He played a full season, keeping ex-Everton and Sheffield United left back Gary Naysmith out the side.

Town got promotion.

Time to let the obsession with the fact that Woods is a 'right back' go, and accept he's versatile.

 

So it came from the club that upto thatbpoibt could afford to get the changing rooms upgrade to a level that the league needed.

 

I think p O’Connor will be in the back 3 if we play that way. Meaning we have to sit miller out of the squad.

I think we will do everything we can to get ball signed up and then bring in a further loan. Plus others.

The young midfield from Blackburn would be a good signing, just been released. Willem Tomlinson but maybe not what we need right now but would offer competition?

I’d also look to sign the lad from Macclesfield who has 6 months left on his contract. Harry Smith. Young Center forward who is a focal point for attacks. Won’t sign a new deal but I imagine our budget has gone on Payne

What are the changing circumstances that DH alludes to that prevented us doing our transfer business early doors this month. As usual it looks like waiting until the last minute to see whether our targets will be joining. I wish managers would stop saying they are well prepared for transfer windows at our club. In truth, we never are

 

I actually have sympathy with Hopkin. He as 5 passengers at least to bin off on huge contracts for this level. They have poor skill sets or attitude that makes them not even get on one of the weakest benches in the league!!!
And we are skint so we cannot really compete with the Scunnys etc. Oh and were in the bottom too. But my glass is still half full just.

 

Isn't it just Wright that DH has said doesn't have the right attitude for the way he wants to play? Not sure I've heard from him that the others have, that's just social media/message board talk.

 

The writing was on the wall at the beginning of January when Hopkin tried to ‘persuade’ the likes of Riley and Wright that they had no future here. Even in that article he’s still hoping those very same players find new homes in what little remains of the transfer window.
Not a chance anyone is going to take them off our hands in circumstance that are beneficial to us. A shambolic summer will continue to kick us in the balls way after January has gone.

 

Its starting to look like this is the sh*t or bust scenario. If we don't get this over the line then we could be struggling. Ball would be an excellent signing on a permanent basis, he's a good L1 player and if we had him signed up then he'd be a great player to take into next season wherever we are.

I don't know much about Surridge but he seems to tick the boxes of what we need up front. Cann't get these two deals over the line then I hope Hopkin has something lined up as back up.

 

Okay maybe thats the official case but Jones appears to be fit? No show Reeves not even put out a statement to the fans that I am aware of? I can handle a really bad injury but at least keep us informed via a personal message after a year at least? We are the fans. The rest isnt attitude just bab. We know Scannels issues and at least he as tried this season?
