Thirsk is a nice little course. Train station and pub at about the 6f marker. Been quite a few times, agree re. Ripon, used to go for their main meeting, forget the name of the valuable sprint handicap they have.

York C away is probably one of the better friendlies, albeit poor timing by the sounds of it.

Must admit Ripon races is a great day out, and it's always easier to pick winners than York!

Yeh, Thirsk is good. Ripon and Thirsk are the 2 courses we have annual trips too from work (not doing either this year, various reasons), I prefer the Ripon trip myself...We’ve got a trip to Donny planned in August, never been there before.

Great St. Wilfred sprint handicap is the race your thinking of.

I know how you feel .....I travelled over from Northampton to Cheltenham some years back, as part of my kid bros wedding plans ........... I was bored shitless all the way through, bar 4 VERY expensive pints. :(

That's the one. Done Donny a couple of times, it's a much bigger course obviously. Done a winter jumps meet and a flat day towards end of the season i think it was, not the st ledger. One was a works do and i remember getting a 25-1 winner in the final bumper, still remember the name - motcomb jam for charlie mann. Made a change from the usual long list of losers! Sure you'll have a good one.

You were bored at Cheltenham? Some the best race meetings of the year are at the home of jump racing Ron.

    And some that deem it
And there are some that deem it ok to pull up on the A64 in full view to empty their bladder; tut!
