I'm definitely being serious, we don't have a wing back at the club so the current formations never made any sense long term unless we're planning on multiple incomings in the window.

 

It seemed to catch a couple of opponents out, but yeah, it's not really working anymore.

4 3 3 looks good to me

 

Very surprised but really happy with this signing.

Let's hope he recaptures the form he showed here before leaving.

Would love to think we have a chance to sign him permanently at the end of the loan, although I think that's probably a tad too optimistic

Not sure during the latter stages of his loan he played more central along side Cook and they had a pretty good relationship

 

What's lazy about it? I can recall everyone being dismayed when he went to Plymouth last season.

 

We lost the one thing that frightens defenders when he went - pace.

We currently have nobody that’s like him.

Agree with that. At Tranmere away he was certainly up front on the left of Cook.

 

Did very well here last time, lets hope he can repeat it. He's a winger though. And we haven't been playing with wingers. So where does he play, and how does this fit into a broader plan...?

 

Imagine if we had gone out and found a like for like replacement but hey we got Matt Derbyshire and a load of sub standard loan signings .

I'm really not sure either but hope it works out. Like some have already intimated doesn't look like a GA signing.

 

Don't get me wrong, I'm happy Wright is back but the whole thing stinks of a PR stunt.

It's Sparks all over this. Re-sign a popular player in the hope that the background dissent goes away. A signing that is incumbent with our transfer "strategy". Jobs for the boys, former players, whatever so long as it doesn't require actual scouting.

Not to mention the player doesn't even fit our current system. And only last week, our manager said he didn't want to sign loanees this window because he questions their commitment.
