Remember what happened the last time our owners fell out ? One owner put the club into administration to get rid of the other owner !!!

Bloody hell mate you'll be believing the rumours next, but then again they were well voiced on C&B during the closed season, when a certain new owner asked Jack Tordoff for a sponcors car for him and his wife (top of the range BMW) I'm given to believe), so Jack in true Yorkshire style told him in no uncertain terms they only give a sponsors car to the manager.

Yes, that is my point when people were saying they had gone leaving us without a sponsor.

It was bollocks, just more shit stirring

Probably true as JCT will have had heart attack when they were told if they wanted to renew they would have to pay going rate not 40-50% less than others in the league

Edin must be a very confident man that he can get new sponsors onboard who are going to pay 40/50% more than JCT or Mittons.
If nothing else I'll give Edin credit for his forward thinking, afterall nobody in their right mind would upset the present main sponsor without getting another signed up would they......would they ?.

Hopefully they will have sponsor lined who will pay 'the going rate'. Which is what exactly?

A decent person would let the current sponsors know what they were looking for before going out and looking for someone new. Otherwise he could spend 6-12 months finding someone for JCT to match the new offer.

How would you suggest he should have gone about it?

Not sure. The difference was quoted against what Scunthorpe get for their sponsorship according to their annual accounts and statements.

A number of scenarios here. Either our marketing team isn't up the job when scouring the market for potential sponsors. Or JCT were deliberately given a deal way below what they should be paying, even though market forces dictate that figure is what someone is willing to pay. Maybe JCT were the only company that were willing to put a decent offer on the table. Or maybe as an area of the country we are so unattractive as a company that no one else wants to sponsor us. I don't know the answer, the only evidence is JCT have been with us a long time over the years. If Rahic can find a suitable replacement i'm sure they will be next seasons shirt. Just don't expect JCT to pay more just because another club sponsor pays more. Thats not how it works.

A decent person would made it known as a club we are seeking new sponsorship for everything Bradford City, had meetings with any potencial new sponsors/companies who said they we're interested and told them a figure they would want for ground sponsorship, shirt sponsorship etc, if they are better deals than the present deals you go back to the present sponsors and tell them you have pitencial new sponsors and the new sponsors are prepaired to pay more for the rights, but as loyal sponcors in the past you would like to give them chance to better the offers recieved from the new sponsors.
But Edin doesn't like making statements about budgets so maybe hes not the right person to be drumming up new sponsorship.

Or maybe most clubs don’t try attract sponsors through general press announcements that they are looking. Maybe they act like decent companies and discuss things behind closed doors and expect the other parties to do the same.

Not sure what would be the benefit of giving an interview to Parker for the the T&A to say we are looking for sponsors. Who reads the T&A.

The club have moved on from doing things through public announcements.

When Man Utd last changed sponsors can you remember their big announcement 18 month before hand asking if anyone was interested in sponsoring them? No. Probably because that isn’t how it is done.

Yeah because their offer for sponsorship was accepted. There is no such thing as market value across the board. There are various reasons as to why companies will pay more to sponsor a club. Look at Rugby League for example. When they had Stobarts sponsoring super league it was given to them for virtually nothing in exchange for advertising on their lorries because no one else was willing to invest. We have to accept thats more than likely why JCT have been our sponsor for so long.

I'll keep it short, nowhere have I suggested Simon Parker being involved, we will have a marketing dlteam who should be out seeking new sponsors, thats what I mean by making it known, if we can't get the basics of going out to local or national companies and trying tonget sponsorship we should give up, its hardly a blsck art.

JCT will be the sponsor next year as the rumour was a load of bollocks. They had another year left on their current deal.

    So VERY true.

A brand is only a part of the sum. The true reality IS - what any sponsor will pay.
A poor brand delivers a poor return, no matter how great a power the sponsor. That said .......... a poorly managed brand will also attract a lower investment.
The big secret is (In Citys position) to have a small but growing brand, and promote it as larger than it actually is. Allow that brand to grow further, and investment will follow as a course of economics.

How many sponsors do you think are out there willing to sponsor Bradford City the way JCT have done Don't exactly see a queue forming or have I missed a large Bradford company with millions to fritter away There was previous mentions of Red Bull sponsoring us think it may well have been just BULL
