I don't want to see anyone suffering when there is no need.

to be honest I don't think I could care less who goes down with us. I won't be attending this game, I've seen enough of our team for one season.

Just over 1250 players for us in first-team matches over the years.

Of these, Hanson's in the Top 20 in League and FA Cup apps, top 25 in League Cup apps, top 10 in minor cup apps, top 15 in playoff apps, and top 15 in overall career apps. 3rd in League goals, 11th in FA Cup and League Cup goals, only 36th in minor cup goals, 4th in playoff goals, and 3rd in overall career goals. WIthout the injuries that marred his final seasons with us, those numbers would have been even better.

That is not the record of a player as bad as some suggest he is/was, or of someone who's managed to fluke a few seasons/goals at our level. He's one of our Hall-of-Famers without question. What he wasn't/isn't is a primary/poacher type of striker; we could do a lot worse than to unearth another of his type now to serve as the second striker in the side.

Such a good sensible post @River_City_Bantam@River_City_Bantam played his part in those very successful 5/6 seasons under Phil Parkinson, a great time to be a Bradford City fan.

Wimbledon have sold over 1600 tickets so far, a party atmosphere for them if they get a result. You can just see it happening, big Jim with a last minute winner at the Kop end. Will he celebrate or not i wonder.

That's just bollocks and you normally talk sense Ricc. Wasn't useless when he scored against leeds, when he bullied chelseas defence, etc etc. Without him Wells wouldn't have been as effective and they were easily the best partnership in L2 at the time. He's nowhere near that now but he was a hard player to play against at his peak. So to call him useless is talking out of your arse frankly. If he was so shit, how come he's carved out a career in league football for some time now after he's left city? There comes a point when you have to accept he can't have just got lucky virtually his entire career and some of it was down to his ability.

Which players or ex managers did you actually like?

Hanson was never the greatest and at times I felt he held us back with how slow he was and on the deck.

But you cannot knock the job he did for us and the vital goals he scored. I will never forget those goals. Particularly villa away.

Why shouldn't he? It's not like a goal would be sending us down..

Bullied Chelsea's defence? He was a good servant to the club but its remarks like this that don't help Hansons cause.

    Did bully Mertesacker though.

Far too prominent in the very best memories we've had this past decade to continually deride.

Hanson should be remembered positively - bizarre that after all that, people still have to run him down. He served City and our best manager ever superbly.

How anyone can knock James Hanson is beyond me. And I hope Wimbledon stay up, at least they’ve shown some fight and character in the last few months.
