Exactly this Bronco, its clear for all to see what type of player he is, and a look at his stats show you what he is capable of - https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jake-beesley/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/321579
If history tells us anything (which at 30 years old I cant see too much changing) he will give us around 25 games and score around 7 goals. It is what it is, he's a decent player but he's not the most exciting signing.

Powell is great to come on last 20 mins and play with a different formation ,like 2 up front with either sarcevic or Philips as a 10 just behind , him and beesley last 20 mins might me a good move now and again .same as Humphrey’s and beesley .but we all know Alexander prefers 3 up front which isn’t quiet working with Pointon and Philips yet

I’d have Penno in the middle. That said he’s been my player of the season so far as RCB.

If it goes how it should and the Barnsley and Readings games are off then he would play him in both them pizza cup games to give him a boost

    Beesley is a strange one
You can see he has something, but it’s like it’s being held back
A brace against Cambridge, which he most definitely should have had
Would see us sitting top of the league with only one defeat and probably a player showing far more confidence
Currently his form in not having too bad an impact on the team , which is good as Powell can’t play enough and Humps and Swann are too inconsistent

Yet Alexander praised the likes of Kavanagh, Sanderson, Lapsie, Humphrys etc for being a constant headache for oppositon defences, and their performance weren't all down to goal scoring, its frustrating as hell for us fans to see chance after chance being fluffed but it does show that having a striker who'll get you high into the teens goal scoring wise is not the be all and end all with regards bring success to the club.
Having said that I'd much prefer a Bobby Campbell, Lee Mills, David Layne, Sean McCarthy, Andy Cook, Dean Windass, Jimmy Hanson, Terry Ingram to be leading the line, buf it would be a brave or stupid fan to call Alexander out for what hes achieved during his time here, have Preston sacked Paul Heckingbottom yet ?, if Alexander were to leave for pastures new IMO it would be a bad day for our club.

Powell had to call on his dark arts to get the better of Ness yesterday, and Ness got quite upset (although after the game they were hugging each other) they both knew the score.
Although Beesley is 6'1" he failed to get the better of Ness, although I recall the once he did win the header NO ONE was in the vicinity to take advantage, I dont think it far to compare Beesley with Powell.
Dare Alexander start Powell and hope he's done enough to come off around 65/70 minutes City being in front, for me what's looking like a far fitter Powell is the ideal man to bring on for the last half hour.

Absolutely no desire to see GA leave for the foreseeable. He's doing a phenomenal job.

What’s frustrating is that GA said in the close season that he wanted to add more goals to the system that otherwise worked well last season. He’s brought in Beesley as a specialist number 9, Phillips as a persistently prolific scorer and assister from midfield, and moved Sarce into central midfield with the intention of him scoring more than last season. But it seems that the combination of moving Sarce deeper and Phillips wide has diminished the goal threat from both of them and Beesley has certainly not looked like adding to our firepower.
If anything, the positional changes and squad additions have had the opposite effect. We’ve become even harder to score against but even less potent up front.

I don’t think GA would risk starting with Nick Powell. He’s too valuable as a super sub to take the chance of him getting an injury that keeps him out for months like last season. Most L1 clubs would give their eye teeth to have a player with Powell’s class coming on for 25 minutes against tiring defenders.
If he does feel the need to drop Beesley I reckon he’d start with Swan or Humphs up front.

The hexagon isn't 26/27 season percentages. It's percentile rank vs other forwards in similar leagues per 90 over the past 365 days.

So 97% aerial duels won doesn't mean he wins 97% of his headers. It means he wins more aerials per 90 than 97% of forwards at this/similar level in the last year. Only 3% win more than him per 90.

If you scroll down to 26/27 it shows 30 aerials won at 46.9% so he’s challenging for a lot but winning less than half of his ariel duels.

As I said everyone sees things different which is actually good for debates and I don't disagree that he shouldn't be off the mark but I stand by my comment he is contributing to the team which has taken 12pts from 18 in the league.

Am sure it will come for him but at the minute it seems GA has done his usual trying to fit a square peg in a round hole
He desperately needs a strike partner Hanson/Wells, Blake/Mills,Campbell/Hawley,Ingram/Gilliver, pretty sure they were all involved with promotion winning teams Shove Beesley in the box and have Sarce/Bobby feeding and feeding off him and we have the makings of at least a play off spot

First of all I have never said my football knowledge is greater than anyone else I just find some of the posts come across as very fickle. We only have to look at Humphrys as a prime example plenty wanted him gone before the window closed but after his midweek showing against Orient he is now the next best thing since slice bread again.

As for Beesley Ok I was under the impression he had two assists so I am happy to hold my hand up when I get it wrong. I will also admit I never saw the game yesterday so have no idea who had a good game and who didn't but that said I will still stick to my comments that he is contributing to the team and doing the hard graft that Alexander wants.

I also stick to my comment that this topic wouldn't even be up for debate had he got off the mark by now and fans are concentrating more on that than what he does for the team and what Alexander expects from him.

Beesley is not suffering from lack of form or confidence, he is suffering from lack of ability.

    Also you Ricky;

It certainly feels very condescending when you're claiming that other City fans have very little knowledge about the game because they don't agree with your particular view.
