    I'm not sure a Director of Football is totally the wrong direction to go - it just has to be the RIGHT Director of Football, and not some frustrated plonk who knows absolutely nothing about football and who comes gift-wrapped with a plan we know instantly won't work because we tried it a few years ago and it was a DISASTER.

    Assuming Sharpe isn't THAT stupid, he could be worth a go - but he'll be watched.

    Bradford isn't Wigan - the fans care about this football club.

    Quite so Ricky. I've been away all weekend with family early Christmas in Weymouth and read this rumour. Christmas early for us but didn't know April Fools was early too !
    David Sharpe has his own business around sports statistics and given his comments around Championship costs he won't be rushing back. My take.

    I lived in Weymouth for just over 5 years; it will be 30 years ago, tomorrow, that I moved back up to Staffordshire.

    Yes, humble apologies but the option of public transport while it is running pre the holiday shut down was more of a draw than a 600 mile round trip in three lanes of solid traffic and 8 hours each way like last year. Also missing one game as opposed to two if we'd gone down Boxing Day, a point my wife twigged on the flight home last night!!

    Having learned the hard way how much it costs the club's owners to sustain a Championship club, I don't believe that somebody with no connection to our club will suddenly be willing to fund us to the required level with no guarantee of success! The Whelan family have already learned that particular lesson and I don't see them repeating their recent mistakes at VP.
