I'd guess it includes everyone to swell the figures.

"Just under 4,000" £1 tickets purchased as of approx 3pm today.

Probably hit just short of 4,500 by close of play tomorrow.

    Not bad at all really.

Of course. Perhaps 2 adults, and say 2 juniors ? Offer two free (player signed) match programs, 4 X HT hot drink, each with a tray of chips, throw in a Club scarf, all in for £60 ?
(That would possibly cost me close to £100 at the moment !)
The Club would still make a bob or two, and have four less empty seats to worry about. ;)

The problem with that is an Airline basically has the same costs if it's empty or full so getting someone in the seat even if its at a price where if the whole flight was sold that cheap would result in a loss makes sense. With events though while some costs are the same if you have 600 or 60,000 there are alot which is variable depending on attendance, for example, things like policing. When Wigan were in the PL they would be lucky to have a 3rd of the capacity to watch most of their games and it was often asked why they didn't just reduce the price and the reason was that to get it low enough to fill the stadium would have resulted in greater costs than it brought in. It will be the same with Man City where the owners buy a massive amount of the seats so they can basically say they are full rather than reduce prices so that they attract actual people as its cheaper for the owners to buy those seats than have to pay the extra variable costs.

Its also the reason Roy Keane complained about some of the lower attended Premier League clubs around the Manchester and Cheshire region as he would talk about how when he was out of work he would decide to go watch a match, head to one of the grounds he knew wouldn't be sold out and they would refuse to sell him a ticket on the gate because most PL refuse to do that because if they did they would need extra policing and the likes to be on the safe side (Keane says he would have to kick up a fuss until the club arranged for him to sit in the directors box when all he wanted to do was buy a normal ticket and watch the match incognito)

So basically there is a limit on how far down they can go on pricing outside maybe a special one match pricing which they have taken a gamble in the hope that it improves finances long term

Out of interest, what involvement does Bradford City have with local schools at the moment?

This is one of the areas that I thought we might develop over the past couple of years, but I've not seen much comment about this.

I agree with idea of giving schools the opportunity to bring children and parents to games.

Actually low cost airlines don't exactly operate that model.
If you book AND pay for tickets weeks/months in advance you will get a lower price. As soon as the break even revenue (approx 60-65%) is achieved, the prices rise. e.g. Stansted - Nice - Stansted next Monday £129, same flights a week later £62, add a further week ahead £43.

It could work well for local schools as they could increase their exam pass rate by forcing City ST's for next season to anyone who gets less than a C.

That should be enough of an incentive I would think.

My Grandson is a teacher at a Bradford primary school (showing my age) He as asked the club for players to visit. Sticks as sorted this and Wright ad Seedorf are visiting next week. I think the kids will be up for this especially if Josh brings his puppy with him .

That's good to hear. Obviously a different level, but Manchester City are everywhere in primary schools in the Manchester area. The school I worked in last year regularly got free tickets, and Phil Foden came in. Decent lad. Kids were buzzing about that.

Depends where you target. The local community has never had an affection for the football club for as long as i've supported them (going on towards 40 years now) and its a long term problem for the club, especially as the demographic of inner city Bradford constantly changes. Someone mentioned targeting the schools outside the inner city and i think they have a point, i would say most of our support comes from outside of the local vicinity of Valley Parade and i don't think that will ever change.

Not sure how 'connected' this is but my son's school recently did a penalty shootout with Bradford at his school, sponsored for some more bits the school needed.

Billy Bantam came (our the chicken as my son called him) and my son get a medal and a football for doing it.

He loved it and won't put his football down...

Again not sure how this relates but deff positive from the in communities!

I’ve always had a touch of envy when other League One clubs sign decent players. Maybe we should have a go at that?

Bring a load of school kids in and they can show the adults how they can bunk off from Valley Parade.
