What are you watching?

Couple of mini series I've enjoyed recently:

Mare of Easttown - gritty US police drama with Kate Winslet in the leading role.

Showtrial - British courtroom drama about a posh student accused of murdering another student. Deals well with the way the press sensationalise events and demonise suspects.

 

Both excellent.

Celine Buckens was truly captivating in Showcase, best female leading role I have probably seen all year on tv

 

Don’t look up, Netflix. Black Mirror, apocalyptic type film, with Leonardo Di Caprio, Jennifer Lawrence and Meryl Streep. Very good, I thought. Although probably a little extreme, it’s one of them where you keep saying to yourself, I can see that happening.

 

Watched that Don't look up on Netflix, not as good as the hype imo although the take on governmental and people behaviour is scarily realistic even though it’s a black comedy.

 

The unforgivable on netflix is a decent watch

 

Have just watched two programmes recorded from BBC4 last night.
The Windermere Children.
The Windermere Children In Their Own Words.

First one is a drama based on facts...
Second is self explanatory.

Both very moving but highly recommended.

I'm sure they'll be available on iPlayer

 

Rewatching S3 of Ozark. S4, part one, is out on the 21st of this month. Got to be said, probably the best thing on the telly these last few years. Really looking forward to the new series.

JFK: Destiny Betrayed

The road not taken by the americans in the 1960's.
Lots of bad guys in this one.

 

Watched part 1 of S4 a couple of weeks ago. It’s still the best thing on the telly. Absolutely brilliant.

 

Looking forward to Better call Saul at some point this year too.

 

Anyone seen the new Louis Theroux episode on the iPlayer, the American far-right one? Bonkers, absolutely bonkers. Sinister too.

 

Trigger Point. Another cracking drama from the Jed Mercurio stable.

 

Has it got better then, because I give up after 1st episode which was so boring and predictable

 

Yes. I wasn't sure after the first episode but the plot has developed nicely.

 

Out of interest, did you watch Vigil and, if so, did you rate it?

 

No never watched Vigil

I was watching A Few Good Men with the wife last night. The court scene was approaching it's climax when Jack Nicholson snarled "You can't handle the truth"............and I immediately thought of @Fordy117

 

Predicted very early on. Was ok as tv dramas go but not sure it was any good? Very meh for me. Nothing happened then all happens in last 5 mins to get you to watch the next one

 

Not many can't though on here.
