    Cheers, I'll give that a go on the train down today. Been listening to Saor, Scottish folk metal, new album Origins... really good.

    Had a listen to Tengger Cavalry, really good actually, like a metal version of the Hu.
    Have a listen to a band called Saor, new album Origins...the title track has an amazing video with it. Scottish folk metal

    Wow, this is turning into a bad end-of-year for my kind of musician. Jet Black now gone, and I also found out that we lost another drummer, Steve Roberts (UK Subs and others) back in November, along with another guitar legend, Keith Levene.



    One of those great intros that has you hooked within a few seconds -- up there with Into the Valley amongst the best ever (but then again, being primarily a bassist I would say that, wouldn't I!) -- and then the guitar from an alien world kicks in...

    Working my way through various "best of 2022" lists to hopefully pick up some gems I've missed. TILT by Confidence Man and God Save The Animals by Alex G have stood out so far

    This year is beginning as the last one ended: another one of the gods gone. RIP Tom Verlaine. Had this up back on about page 5; time to bring it up again. Not a weak moment in the LP.

    Arggh! Now I see that Sylvia Syms has died as well. Ice Cold in Alex...mmmmmmm.

    I was really late to the Television party and only discovered them in the last 12 months. I'd heard Marc Riley on 6 Music saying that Marquee Moon was the best debut album of all time and figured that it was probably worth a listen and was instantly hooked, so much so, Venus was my most played song on Apple music last year.

    Dunno about THE best, but it's certainly one of the greats. I've always liked the way the guitar dances through the chords in Venus, and the song Marquee Moon is a favourite: 10 1/2 minutes, 2 solos, and never gets boring -- the Ramones could have managed 5 songs in that time!
