I’m not sure our junior ranks would be appealing to prospective future talent when they know part of the work is scrubbing seats. It would give our local rivals an even bigger appeal.

The tasks of juniors have always been far reaching, cleaning stadium as mentioned, shovelling the snow off the pitch, cleaning a senior pro's boots.

They're all too bleeding pandered to the these days

 

Maybe so, but it’s a competitive playing field and clubs want to attract the best kids. Whether you agree or not it makes logical business sense not to have scrubbing seats as part of the juniors remit.

 

Any working class parent with a half decent work ethic would have no problem whatsoever.

I think most kids at our level are just happy to be at a pro club.

 

Bring back YTS training I say!

Way back when Stuart was brought back for the first time there was a fans forum and at the end I believe it was Mark who asked if any plumbers, electrician, painters etc who wanted to help out at Valley Parade they would be more welcome if they had time to help the club.

 

Flog the lot of them, that's what I say, I say Ashley.

 

If i was a plumber or electrician, id feel very short changed completing jobs for free when we pay some of our players £2-3k a week.

Same goes for cleaning seats. Hire a wrath of cleaners at £10 an hour ffs. Its chicken feed...

 

That's fine your time is your own to spend as you wish, Im not sure how many if any offered their services.

I suppose it's akin to getting volunteers clearing the snow off the pitch before a game. Hats off to those who go down and give up some of their own time to help out the club. I hope there'll be a least a free pint of "ice cold Carling from our new catering team" or something similar after the job has been done. As I said, Astonish should be all over this - providing the volunteers with a cleaning pack of their products. Cross promotion opportunity by a local business if ever there was one.
