I'd like to see Metcalf in the Power role. From what I've seen of him so far, he is more of a holding mid than an attacking one. I don't want to be risking Power in a game like this.

 

Metcalfe and Pattison CM for me.

It will be interesting to see which fringe players start, bench or not included at all - could end up telling us quite a lot tomorrow.

I expect Halliday, McIntyre, Richards and Cook to start. Since Pointon is suspended on the weekend likely he will as well. Does Lapslie also play? Where does this leave Leigh, Kavanagh?

Imagine Swan also plays a decent amount of minutes but not sure how that formation works!

Its worth having, I just think we may bow out here. Had a good run the lady couple of seasons but we can't be getting to the semis every year and this is a tough ask.

 

Bolton paper says they are going to make a lot of changes. A few players who have been out for a while or barely played this season are starting says their version of Parker.

There priority this season must be promotion ???
I know Birmingham went for it last season but they had the advantage of a bigger squad and basicaly pissing the league.

Hope we put on a show tonight and Plymouth do the same last thing we need is Cleverly getting the boot and Adams coming back to haunt us

 

You’re right Gaz, our mindset this season is promotion first but as we have a big squad we see these games as an opportunity to increase the minutes of fringe players so I expect there to be at least 8 or 9 changes. That doesn’t necessarily mean a weak team as our second string is pretty strong for this level and those that start will know they’re playing for a first team place. I would imagine you’re much the same as you have some very good players not getting into your team at the moment. Looking at your run up to January, I’d say you have a fairly easy run of fixtures so I’d imagine that will also be your priority so wouldn’t expect your strongest team tonight. Personally most of us aren’t too fussed about this competition other than it giving players proper game time but I’m sure management would still like a Wembley trip if it came as I’m sure would yours.

 

Does anyone know if our players loaned out have the clause to play in these fixtures? Similar like the kids did playing for Donny in the last game?

 

I've just got back of my hols and not feeling too well, and not going. SO I've a couple you can have pm me with an email address and I'll send across.

 

Looking at the regulation it doesn't look like they would be eligible, the regulation seems to be that they need to be at a National League club on a long term loan. Hadi and Goodman are below the National League and Ibbitson is only on a short term loan. That being said I don't think there would be anything stopping us from cancelling the loan for a few days then loaning them back out after the match if we really did want them to play.

 

It will probably come down to who has the best reserves.Defensively we should be ok,but midfield and attack,who knows,could go anyway.

 

At least if we get beat we can all blame Andy Cook again.

A bit stronger than I thought. Suspect Lapslie will play RWB like he did when he came on against Bolton in the league with Leigh and Power in the middle. Assume Halliday must have picked up a knock.

 

Scratching my head why he has gone so strong for this tinpot game.
