the cap is basically set on the price per unit. If you more energy than average you will end up paying more than the headline figure quoted

I’m also with Bulb, we currently pay £125 per month, we’re over £300 in credit yet they have increased our monthly payment to £183. Thinking about cancelling my Direct debit cheeky burgers

I think you need to e.mail/phone them and seek to reduce it. If you cancel it they could see this as you terminating the contract.

Yes your right I know, but I think it’s cheeky upping payments without seeking permission first

Also don’t like the idea of them having more of my money and then going bust

it is busted because the customer has been paying bottom rate as companies don’t want to rise prices as people will leave to the other cheapest who have held off putting prices up.
If anything this is a good reset to get the true cost back to reality

On second thoughts don’t phone, send E-mails and keep a thread/record. If it comes to a formal complaint on your part, then you can submit it as evidence to OFGEM.

Have just had an online chat with them and they've lowered the payments to a middle ground figure ...still not happy with the increase though.

I think that Bulb are trying to get in as much money as possible to cover their financial problem.
