Not sure it was 50/50 to be honest. Id say a sizeable majority were still firmly behind Stuart. I think it was patently obvious at the time of Stuarts sacking that the problems ran far deeper than the manager. I'm very much in the Mccall camp but in my opinion the biggest gaffe, having taken the decision to sack Stuart was to appoint Grayson on the short term deal. Imo they may as well have let Stuart see out his contract. We may well have still missed out on the play offs but I firmly believe we'd have been no worse off. What happens over the coming weeks are critical in my view for our short to medium term future. We can not afford any more owner gaffes, but sadly Im not convinced that they truly have learned from their mistakes...

The last couple of seasons, we've been floundering around trying to find a purpose. If we strike it lucky with the development squad, we could really improve our prospects on and off the field - but it's unlikely to bear fruit at first attempt, let alone in the first couple of years, but let's face it if we'd stumbled on a Wells last season, we'd have been a good shout to go up.

We didn't, however, and the chances of unearthing that difference-making starlet are very, very slim. We've found one or two who can play first team football at this level, but nothing incredibly special and different.

Until we find that, we have to accept that the development squad lowers the average ability of our squad, rather than raises it.

Robinson and Maybe Gibson were recruited for the development squad so that’s very good for the first year And I think if he keeps healthy Robinson in particular will be a big hit

We need a consistent message from them Park, a clear strategy we can see and get behind even if it's not my preferred direction.

We've had too many contradictions and if the only lesson they have learned is consistency of words with action that will be a big step forward.

Robinson should be considered a key member of the starting XI next season, and only back up should be signed in his position. If we sign a veteran left winger now, we know the owners aren't serious about the development thing.

Gibson needs to develop further, however.

Is anybody at the club to give the players their off season training program?

I suppose this might wait until the new guy arrives, so holidays may have to be delayed until he’s announced.

in red what they really mean..

After Simon Grayson left the club earlier in the week, the club remains fully focused on making wide-reaching improvements on and off the field.

We appreciate that it is important to keep our fans informed of our plans. With regards to player recruitment, this process is ongoing. The structure we have in place has allowed us to continue preparing for the upcoming transfer window.

On the managerial front, our preferred criteria is that the Head Coach we appoint must have the proven ability to develop a team over a longer-term period and, (basically we know we cant deliever our three year promsie & want to keep slipping in this 'longer term' thing as often as we can so we can backtrack & get out of our original promise
most importantly, to improve each individual player within his squad. (basically, we cant afford any new players so we want a manager who can try get the best out of this bunch of league 2 standard players and hope for the best)

Many interesting candidates have already put themselves forward for the job and each will be now assessed based on how well they fit with this long-term strategy. (see, we slipped in that LONG TERM thing again ;)

We must do all we can and take as much time as necessary to give ourselves the best chance of getting this right. (another way of slipping in that LONG TERM thing again, the more we put this in we will hopefully subliminally get the message through we fecked for a few years cos we signed all these crap players on long contracts & dont know how else we can fix the problem)

We believe that this appointment could be the most important decision the club will make in the coming years. (YEARS, yeah cos this is a LONG TERM thing, please forget the 3 year plan to the get promoted thing we promised)

In addition, next Monday (14th May) will see major pitch renovations kick-off at The Northern Commercials Stadium. (we actually not fixing the problem of the pitch we just laying a new pitch like we do every year but because we have absolutely no other good news to give we will clutch at straws and tell you this so you think we are doing something)

This is in conjunction with the redevelopment of our Woodhouse Grove training pitches, which is already well underway.

All this makes for an exciting but crucially important time for our club. We will keep you updated throughout this period.

Obviously we will never know one way or the other. I posted at the time of his sacking, that we had just lost our only chance of staying in the playoffs. This wasn’t because Stuart is hero or any other such notion, sometimes you have let the storm hit you rather than trying to run through it. Our results were abysmal for whatever reason, but he knew those players, he had already galvanised them into top six, a few loan players and I would have backed him to get us there. Many fans don’t believe that, but I do. I do not think he would have renewed his contract in the summer, too much like hard work being the middle man between Edin and the players. Chairman have a responsibility to back their manager through the hard times as well as the good times. I have been told that Stuart and Edin did not get on, my response to that is grow up and behave like adults, find a way through for the sake of the club. They sacked Stuart because it was an easy way out, and brought Simon in. If they have learnt from all of that, that can only be good. However, this club has lost a valuable opportunity to gain promotion which is hard for all of us to take.

Yes I am envious of Huudersfield Town, they have a Town Fan and a man who is extremely rich, and is prepared to plug the losses.

We'll agree to disagree. The team were awful prior to McCalls dismissal and I'm not sure that a couple of loans would have made any difference. The owners have made a lot of mistakes during their time here but I'm not sure bringing in someone with the track record of Grayson to try and rescue our season was one of them. It was completely understandable and justifiable at the time, regardless of how things panned out.

It is unlikely that the three year plan will be successful so why not come out and say so. Edin that is. I like long term. This summer the pitch and then next summer something else.

"Many interesting candidates" sounds like a bunch of losers. More piffle and waffle from Coco and Bozo.
