A bit of "the chicken and the egg" for me, cheap tickets and a reasonable display on the pitch will keep floaters (I dont mean that in a derogatory way) but if as we saw last season poor home performances they certainly wont renew at £250 IMO.
We have been spoilt up till last season where we were getting success not always great football but winning is a great habit whether your a player or fan.

I'd love the club to host a fans forum event where fans of all backgrounds and means could debate it properly. Talk with the club about the level of flexibility that fans and owners have to put more of their money in to increase the budget - or whether people even want that.

I think we missed the boat with the price increase. We should’ve increased year on year with the biggest increase after the last promotion. We’re paying the price for mediocre budgets and unless the owners inject some cash, we may have to accept that lower playoff to mid table position will be the norm.

Another way of asking the question would be. If you could choose:

169 for an ST and we start next season with the current squad.

    Or

250 for an ST and we start with the squad from last season's playoffs...

The thing is with recent events when Stefan has held his hands up and said they are learning, after their big entry originally when they said it was their policy to keep football affordable, it would take a brave man to say they are learning, then to do a "U" turn on one of their major policies IE cheap football.
Ultimately I would prefer the owners to fund the club as at the end of the day they are the ones who will be getting a profit on their investment if we are successful ?.

I'd hazard a guess that everyone that's responded on here is part of the 'core' fan base and also able to afford to pay an increase in season ticket prices without it impacting too much on their own budget. Just because people here would pay more does not mean everyone would.

Us city fans have been spoilt with ssn ticket prices in recent years and I think folk get used to paying those prices. If those prices are to be increased then it wants doing at the end of a successful ssn and not after the kind of disastrous one we've all just endured.

I too am more than prepared to pay 230.00 for my season ticket
It works out at 10.00 per game How much is entry to the cinema these days including snacks
However I wouldn't go and watch the same boring film week after week. I believe if we had a half decent product on the pitch we wouldn't lose many season ticket sales at 230.00 Fans found the money to go to Wembley 3 times how much did that cost more than 230.00 I wager. The other problem how could we be sure the extra revenue would be used on the first team budget how could it be monitored. Bradfordians are known to be notoriously frugal but would find the money to watch a winning exciting team as proved by the demand for Chelsea tickets (that wasn't a cheap day out either Get the first team sorted and the rest will fall into place

That’s a very good point. Though as I mentioned earlier in my posts, several of those I’ve spoken to in person are what you might call ‘floaters’ and they’ve indicated a similar view.

If paying £250 guaranteed a top 6 budget I'd happily pay £250. If the club announced that this years season tickets were £250 i wouldn't get a season ticket. It might sound weird but that's the difference between asking hypothetical questions where you've intentially created an optimal outcome to suit an agenda and reality, which is what most of us like to live in when making major purchases.

I think a lot of our fan base still haven't grasped the fact that although it's good to see the Valley Parade stands somewhere near full when every season ticket holder turns up, revenue wise it won't bring much more into the club than a rival club with half the season ticket holders but at double the price tickets. I agree to an extent that there is extra revenue via merchandise and refreshment sales but that only compensates a small percentage for the difference in price of the tickets.

As much as it pains me to say it we as supporters probably need a reality check. It doesn't help when our owners come out with outlandish statements about automatic promotion and the like, but as a club and where we stand finance wise we have probably over achieved the last couple of seasons. We don't have a bottomless pit of money, we have the cheapest season tickets in the league and apart from the Richmond era we have always been a club thats never had any money. Look, even i got carried away with the hype last season, so close yet so far. But as much as i dared to dream that our new owners had won the euro millions and were gonna spunk the lot on a league one Man City, lets face it, it was never gonna happen. It is Bradford City for goodness sake.

Whether we like it or not, and i'm not exactly thrilled at the prospect, we may have to accept that the mid table position we find ourself in could be the norm for the next few years. If that first team wage budget continues to be picked at like a fat kid with a biscuit jar then we will have to temper our expectations. Could be a long season in 18/19.
