I thought that exact same thing earlier. I bet if he’d have been promised the players we’ve managed to bring in, he’d have signed up! Which makes me wonder, have we really pushed the boat out, further than we planned to, in order that Edins plan of a young inexperienced coach is less likely to backfire with much better players, or are we simply spending what we saved on hiring the likes of Grayson... I wonder....

Couple of other tweets reckoning the Peterborough was around £200k or less.

 

In all honesty I don't see us spending more than 300k on a striker which in today's market won't get us very far. But Rose would be good value for money, and looks like there's a deal to be done.

 

Not arsed who it is, just hope Edin pushes the boat out just this once for a top striker, as then i believe Wyke, Jones, Miller and another striker will help us fare the season with Payne, Seedorf Robinson and Scannell getting their fare share along with Wright. This is one of the biggest chances we have of promotion this season with or squad and we need that final piece of the jigsaw to complete our squad, hope the hierarchy see it the same way.

 

I'd be extremely worried if they didn't see it the same way. What would be the point in investing in quality throughout the team but then not bothering with the last piece? It would be like building a really nice house but then going 'sod it, I'm not going to bother with the roof'.
