It was last January. Striker recruitment as we know is normally the trickiest aspect - the recruitment team get this right- then we could with the coaches been a success and injuries permitting mean we have a pretty good season.

 

Every man and his dog have known for some time Charlie is leaving and whereas like everyone else, I think they cocked up in January recent business would suggest that matters are already in hand(ie lessons have been learnt)

I bet you give our players longer than 5mths to prove they have “fitted in”. Scoring 2 in his 1st 10 games isn’t a definition that he won’t fit in or improve

 

We will land at least one GOOD striker.
We were trying for good strikers in jan but it didn’t pay off due to the market in January.

Collins in the T&A says we're still working on more incomings. He's optimistic about their impact (as you'd expect I guess) but does show we're still active.

Also expects more departures he says.

That was hardly the reason he was brought in though was it, he was brought in to quickly turn what was a toxic situation around and even Grayson admitted it was more difficult than he expected,
Even walking rather than try and turn the club around football wise.

Thing is, I remember that fans forum, where it was put to the floor "Sign another Charlie Wyke, or get a new pitch". All voted for the pitch. So the question is, where has the reported 400k for Scannell come from? And does it mean that if /when Charlie does leave, the money we get for him, will go to balancing the books due to expenditure on the new pitch (as outlined, it's either one or the other)?

 

Either Rupp has decided to invest some of his own money or we are spending the Wyke money in advance so we don't fall behind in our recruitment.

Also, where has the 400k figure come from?

 

I saw someone quoting that figure on FB. Could be total nonsense of course (as it usually is), but I do think that is the sort of figure to be expected for someone with Scannells experience and potential.

Unless the Phil Woolias bringing in a seven figure investment rumour has come off on the quiet.
There’s undoubtedly been some increase in the budget from somewhere.

 

He's probably just dipped into the secret stash he was hiding from SR.

 

I doubt he / they won't come cheap.
Any out of contract strikers worth looking at ? But again - High wages ?
