You could actually make a very strong XI from players who didn't feature yesterday and most of these players would walk into most teams in this league. The depth is increible.

Seen the playback a couple of times and difficult to see if there was hand contact with the ball. If there was, it could have come from the guy at the back of the three and he was wearing a white shirt.

 

The table always changes Feb to May when strength in depth shows. How many did we have on the subs bench last year who could change a game? So far, our subs have done their job. Mark has a choice of who to bring on and when.

 

Go on I'll be the first to say it, I thought the referee made some dire calls, early doors one of the Tranmere players took one of ours out with a very poor tackle, not even a yellow and two very dubious penalty claims the second half challenge was IMO a nailed on pen, why would Young ? dive when he was on the ball not taken out by one Tranmere defender but two.

The game has changed to a more squad based game now with it being 5 subs from 7. Last year it was just the 3 but now you can change half the side to effect the game. That can only be a good thing when we look at our bench compared to some sides who will have a good first 11, but will really struggle on the back of 2 or 3 injuries.

We are missing two of our main players Walker and Osadabe through injury. How many other teams at the top are carrying long term injuries to starting players? We are just below 2 points per game as it stands, if we had 16 points we would be on par for 2 points a game which is promotion form, if we do win the next two home games we will pull ourselves up to 2 points a game and after 10 games if offered that you would bite their hand off.

He wasn't weak anywhere against Sheff Wednesday. Head and shoulders above any of our defenders last night and rapid to boot.

Obviously don't see much of him in training but if that game is anything to go by he won't be out of the team for long.

 

I still don’t think we’ve had a convincing 90 minutes this season. We play well in spells and have good possession and chances but seem unable to maintain it for the full game. Last night we looked great for the first 20-30 minutes and then let them back in the game which has been the story in most games this season.

Great that we’re winning but the lack of clean sheets and the inability to control the game for 90 minutes is a bit of a concern IMO.

 

I think Ridehalgh might struggle to regain his place in the team, based on Foulds' performance last night.

 

I'd just like to mention the disciplined half hour performance we saw from Sutton. He still made a his forays forward but by and large helped steady the ship when we were a bit under the cosh. I don't think he will start many games but think he will finish most.

Do any league 2 teams really dominate 90 minutes? I remember in league 1 against Plymouth felt like we didn’t let them out of our half and they won 1-0 with a certain Mr Adams as manager. We have the joint third most clean sheets and last night Tranmere had 2 shots on target to our 8. At this level there are no Man City’s it’s just whose better in the opposite box usually.

 

Pretty much. Basic league two stuff. Get in front and keep hold of it. I'm not sure if they've won a game by more than 1 goal for a while or indeed in the league.

 

As an exile supporter it was great to be able to watch the match on I Follow. A pity the service finished before the " All the way" chant could be heard.
