That’s a better insight, tnx, yet oddly other clubs were “ interested “ in him in his third term , hence the MKD bid and purchase?

Notice they had been playing him as the lone striker in his third term because they didn’t have a centre forward. That’s like putting Pattison as our no 9 ? He’s damn adaptable if that’s the case?

We've seen a distinct improvement in Pointon from the start of the season even with some very average players around him, I'd be disappointed if it was Pointon who makes way for any of the new signings he has the shirt its up to them to take it from him, what they did at other clubs has no bearing and Alexander certainly looks to be that kind of manager who wants players to show him what their capable of.

 

Yeah, I think it's unfair to expect him to play as a striker.

He sounds a decent signing to me, Kev. I hope GA hasn't signed him as an "adaptable" player who could fill in up front though.

We really shouldn't be holding Francize FC up as a good example with regards football, they sacked Alexander after 6 or so games whilst still in a challenging position, bringing in Williamson who they thought was the way forward (playing out from the back) financially supporting him and sacked him 7 games league games into the new season.

Agree Jon, they may be adaptable but not the master …

I think he’s a Sarcevic / Patto type player running from slightly deep as seen in some of the vids , no chance should a be a lone striker ….from what I’ve seen or read.

 

He lives down south somewhere. He will need to move, hopefully he will settle down in glorious Yorkshire.

I agree he has gone from being a very good impact player for the last twenty minutes to putting in good 90 minute performances. Doesn’t mean he is perfect plenty of learning still to do. Let’s hope he develops with us

 

I'm with you with regards Bobby developing with us but as we know once kids move and are surrounded by far better players if they the ability they will develop faster.
I said to the guy sat next to me Pointon won't be here long and he looked at me daft, I don't think there will be offers in for him this window but as you say if he continues to improve and that would suggest he'd be a regular starter unfortunately I think we may see offers during the closed season.

 

No chance.

He’s slow and struggles to beat at a man. Yes, sometimes he can play a good ball but he’s vastly overrated by most that follow the club. He isn’t that good.

If clubs wanted him then bids would’ve come in the summer. Yes, he’s in the 11 for now but won’t be for much longer.

We need better than Pointon, Smallwood etc to move forward.
