So someone paying £19 for a seat that is never used doesn’t cost the club money when a full paying adult could buy it.
It’s a fantastic deal from the club to offer such low prices but it really is being abused where some people are buying kids tickets just so their child or anyone else they know can sit next to them for a few games per season.
This practice is stopping new fans or POTD fans like @Nidge@Nidge from buying decent seats, instead having to sit up in the gods.

Have they opened up the stand without a roof on yet?

Thanks for all the replies. I've just bought two up in the gods in the West stand, the walk will do me good! We were there for the Crewe game and were jealous of those lower down in the Spring sunshine while we shivered in the shade.

£19 for kids ST, rip off if a big club like MK Dons make no charge :)

Great spot for the purists mind. You get a superb view of the dynamics and the tactical aspect of the game. Like a chessboard from up there.

We are up in the gods as well on a ST. In the executive suite area. We love it up there apart from the steps. You see absolutely everything. It looks like you caught the bug. If you are thinking of buying a ST go down to the ticket office next week and ask them if they have any in the bottom area. It is always cold at VP in or out of the sunshine:)

It would be great way to ensure you had space around you, "buy" half a dozen

The poster sounds like someone with no children or other responsibilities, to be honest. In October and November, I struggled to get to a game due to children's parties, the flu, and other things cropping up. It can even be a case of the family pet dying, and suddenly, you miss a game and get a strike.

I'm sorry, but it's a load of nonsense. I'm all for finding ways to get extra bums on seats and more income for the club, but treating it like some school register is ridiculous. People pay for that seat and also have lives away from football, end of.

I agree. We hardly went this season. I have just renewed, so although we might not make it to every match we are still City fans and I am sure the club appreciates our contribution.

Just wait until 5 mins after kickoff , wander down to block E or F and you’ll see a plethora of empty seats to occupy.

    And working shifts.

If he had his way the club would have removed a season ticket holder of 35+ years to make space incase Roger from Ecclehill has decided he'll come down to a big end of season game which as we know, happens very, very rarely.

All under the guise of "making money". It defies logic.

I get that things crop up, that’s life but what I’m talking about is the same seat’s left empty for almost the entire season.
For sellout games there needs to be a way for fans to contact the club to advise they aren’t coming to the game and their seat can be re-sold. This is actually quite common at PL clubs like Man U and even at Leeds where if you don’t transfer your seat and you don’t attend, it’s a strike and you risk losing your seat..
We’ve seen at the last 2 games how amazing the atmosphere is when VP is full or nearly full so it’s not just about money, it’s about creating that feel good atmosphere at home games.
It’s common knowledge that we’ve sold 15000 ST’s yet on most Tuesday night games and quite a few Saturdays id estimate only around 7-8k inside the ground and it makes for an awful drab experience.
I know the comeback though will be we have the best home record in the country so fans don’t matter.

The seat is paid for so it is their business, I don't understand seats been empty for a full season but it's non of mine or even the clubs business as to why that is at the end of the day.

That is a sensible idea. Should the person get in touch, the club could release seats for matches such as the last game of the season. Or maybe the club could contact people who haven't been attending and ask if their seats can be released for specific big games? They contacted me and others to ask about Tuesday night games, so it is possible.

The only other way is to make children's tickets much more expensive, which is a bonkers idea considering how much the fan base has grown since the mid-2000s.

Taken from our close neighbours website. Seems reasonable to me and I’m not sure why we couldn’t adopt a similar thing.

I think this is totally a no as I work nights so cannot attend night games and been a season ticket holder since 86 hence paid every season.

So if I went on holiday between 2 night games that would equal 3 so I would lose my ticket I think not.

It's great people are getting on board and new fans are coming in but where have these been in the dark days.

There is always enough tickets to go round as we have not been totally sold out all year.
