Theoretically, is GA going anywhere?

If Burnley come sniffing.... maybe

 

Personally I think Alexander would be a fool to jump ship currently
Technically only a handful of places between the clubs
Window is 4 months away, so he would have to work with what are currently poor squad’s at both the Lancashire clubs
How much grace would he get if results carried on , on paper neither club is bigger than ours, just have a better history, but us being in the premier league 20+years ago or winning the FA cup in1911 count for nothing , as with everything they achieved in the past
I know these opportunities only really come along when a club is struggling and for all his history with both, he is a lower league manager and I think it would end with a sour taste ,whereas take us up again, the world would be his oyster

Fully expect the rumour mill to begin, the most inevitable sacking of the season. I wouldn't shocked if Burnley are considering doing the same as they're possible even worse than Preston and look to be in a real relegation fight.

At least we protected ourselves financially by giving him a new contract last year. I can see PNE coming in for him.

Finish a job at a L1 club on the up hoping to be in the Championship next season or join a failing club in the Championship who’ll be in L1 next season?

Will be a Rob Edwards, Gary Rowett type with Champ experience gather than pulling up someone from L1 for a rescue mission.

 

You really think GA and CL would refuse an offer from Preston ?

 

A club with a mid table league one budget that he's squeezed everything out of, with the likelyhood that budget isn't going to change or a club with years in the championship that he has very close ties with. Couple that with the fact he would receive a significant pay rise to go manage in the championship? I have no knowledge of what Alexander or Preston would do but if an approach was made he'd be mad not to consider it.

 

Rob Edwards won’t go there but Rowett might. I think they’ll go for Challinor.

 

On their forum they have a poll up and GA has the 10th most votes at the minute. Looks like Steve Cooper, Steven Gerrard, Rob Edwards, Sean Dyche & Robbie Keane all named more by their lot. No real noise in the fan base to want GA either.

Reading their forum and they’re not actually interested. They don’t want his legacy ruining, coupled with the fact it’s best to have an experienced champ manager given their current plight.

 

What they want and what they can attract will be 2 different things.

I don't see why Rob Edwards or Sean Dyche would want to drop into Championship relegation fight, they will both be looking at top end Championship at the lowest. Steve Cooper is one I could see but Gerrard would be huge risk as would Robbie Keane.
