Theoretically, is GA going anywhere?

Let's put this Alexander to Preston rubbish in the bin and crack on with making a couple of signings before the window shuts and concentrate on beating Burnley while we're at it.

 

Well time will tell but GA strikes me as a man of integrity.

As for Duxbury, I think he was forced out and didn’t actually want to go to Huddersfield.

He didn’t really have backing at Hartlepool but was successful, yeah sure he did at Stockport. One role but boy he made the most of it, improved year on year. Managers like Mourinho and Guardiola have never not been backed, I’m sure most clubs would bite their hands off for them.

Let's worry about what maybe if and when Preston part ways and then if they approach us. For now let's just keep the eye on the prize and continue our winning start which is exactly what Alexander will be doing.

 

I see the same argument with Formula 1 drivers, that they only end where they do because they have the best car. Well the richest team wouldn't invest so much money and hire Stevie Wonder as the driver, it is the same in football. The best are in demand and their services cost. That is why we couldn't attract many decent players and managers when we ran a sustainability model; in sport or business, quality costs.

If/when Preston do sack their boss, I cant see them going down to L1 for their saviour. It’s so rare in the last few years that clubs have gone to L1 for their next boss and it's even rarer for that to be a struggling club.

There's a champ market with Rob Edwards, Gary Rowett, Dave Challinor, Sean Dyche, Scott Parker, Steven Gerrard out of work and all free with no compo to pay out. All probably would be above Alexander when the initial odds are listed.

 

I saw something saying “go get him”. It was the Scot Billy Davies. Not sure if he’d been there before.

 

My opinion is if they sack Hecky, they will come in for GA, and I think he goes. Established champ side, will spend some money and have hovered around the playoffs previously. This takeover could also mean more money to spend.
I could see an exception, if their new owners didn’t pass the sniff test and him turning it down.
If and when he does go, hopefully it’s an upward more and we’re left in a very healthy position, but then time for Sparks and Sharpe to earn their oats again with the next man
