I mean we know GA will be linked with Preston.

But that article is specifically about Lee Grant and has a single sentence about him saying he'd be open to it. We all know that already.

I'd take it as lazy journalism again.

It's an easy claim to make and one anyone could make it up without any source as there's never going to be anyone coming out with evidence to say it's not true. Talksport like most media are happy to guess the truth if it makes a good headline or gets them clicks. I don't think many outside of our fanbase would think if Alexander was offered the chance to at least discuss the job that he wouldn't be interested in speaking to Preston to see what they have to say.

To me this is them trying to jump on the lack of rumours around the job and putting something out there knowing it will get readers.

“ believed to be open to the job” is that what makes you believe it? It’s probably just because he was a bit non commital when interviewed.

Of course GA was pragmatic about Preston. He would not want to upset their fans or the club officials by turning down a job nobody is offering. There may come a time when he is out of work and needs a job. At the moment his project is Bradford City, and it is not finished. He doesn’t come across as a money only type of manager, he enjoys the job, watching him on the touch line yesterday made me smile. He kicked every ball, waving the players into the right positions screaming at the ref, This is as normal the media are manufacturing information and dishing it up as fact.

Open to negotiation probably...he would of course listen to anything another club had to say, its just human nature.

Whats my salary, whats my budget, whats the clubs ambition. He would be a fool to turn down an interview. Then he decides whether he wants it or uses it as a tool to get him and his team an extra few quid for staying and being committed.

    Part and parcel of employment.

They can't interview him while he's under contract without our strict permission, That aside if he fancies it. his agent will be well briefed with all that you mention. They'll at least double if not treble his salary with us I suggest.
I do think he's an hourable man, but this one is a real coin flip for me.
If PNE have Grant on their shortlist, well you really couldnlt try and second guess what their thinking will be.
One thing I do hope is that we already have some kind of contingency plan ahead.

He has a release clause so if they are willing to pay it, they can do what they want.

Yes, and apparently its 7 figures.
As you say they can then do what they want ,for which I hope we're already preparing some kind of contingency

I read it’s 7 figures, peanuts to a championship club

I hope he doesn't go but sooner or later a Championship club with visions of gaining promotion could come knocking
Is GA ambitious/good enough to want to manage a top end Championship side has he the right credentials
We have heard it said many times before that a manager has "Taken the club as far as he can" a phrase which reflects where we are now
Is Mr Rupp prepared/willing to fund a Championship club and the debts that go with it have heard it said that he can't so the real considerations are if he wants to progress in his career are Bradford City able to match his ambitions
It's a conundrum with many considerations/conclusions which one day not necessarily now the club and GA will have to solve

If they are considering Lee Grant then Alexander must be up there

Not necessarily they both have completely different styles of play. Here's hoping PNE don't fancy the GA more pragmatic safety first approach in the Championship

If they wanted pragmatism and safety first, they'd go for a manager than can offer than with Champ experience. They won't gamble safety on a guy whos never managed at that level or won promotion from the level below either.

It makes zero sense to want Grant and GA, total opposites. I guess one is a reach and one is a media plant either by PNE or the managers agent to get buzz out there.

What PNE have to realise is that whoever takes over, GA included, it's not an overnight fix. As at City, it takes time - getting this far into the project, would he really want to start all over again?

PNE joint bottom of the Championship
Deepdale never had atmosphere for years
    City top of division 1
    Atmosphere usually mental

I get where your coming Jordan from but as @Bantam-in-Greece@Bantam-in-Greece says because someone has previous experience of Championship football or in Paul Heckingbottom case also Premiership football it doesn't guarantee you sucsess.

Yes agree completely with this, just seems that GA is not seen a fashionable modern manager so the higher level jobs pass him by. His past connection to the club will in my opinion mean naff all to the PNE hierarchy and on this basis I don't think GA will ever have a decision to make.

Let's face it, every appointment is a gamble to some degree, even more so when you are hiring at the foot of the table. If they really wanted GA or Grant, they'd be in the job already for me.

Is their takeover still happening? That might cause some delays.
