Good post @andyc the highlighted was and is still a very worrying fact and difficult for the average person to comprehend, a complete stranger allowed full rein of running his investment because if the story is correct any money Rahic put in was loaned by Rupp.

 

Hi Dave, most definitely , how such a successful man , took his eye of his investment and apparently left it with someone that he only met through others staggers me.
Especially as said guy had about as much football knowledge and the business acumen of a cabbage.

 

All this talk of Rupp being a successful businessman is guesswork really. It's hard to find any info on him, and for all we know, he could have inherited his business manufacturing helicopter seats from a family member and then flogged it.

 

I'll try and find the article but I'm sure I read their were two who started the original business.

He actually sold his shares in the company Fischer seats ( the helicopter company) and became sole owner in the ER sports group GMBH in 2019. Whatever that is.
Describes himself as a self made millionaire.
Read it on the football word blog a couple of years ago.

 

Spot on , on all grounds…..anything else is just pure fantasy island stuff and honestly a waste of time .

 

He’s successful in the sense his worth is said to be £80-£100 million? How he got there and what form and how that worth was gained is largely irrelevant .

 

Not really though, I could inherit £12 million tomorrow and I’ve not worked a day in my life. Would that make me a successful businessman?

 

No but a bloody lucky and rich one. How much of it are you pumping into City

 

Tough one that! Probably not enough to buy Rupp out but it would be fun to chuck a few million into the playing budget! Haha.

 

I have always said , win that euromillions jackpot of £110+ million and City and VP, would be mine, say £15million there, and chuck £5million into tarting the old place up and £10 into the playing budget. £30 million , but still have £80 million for my weekly shopping,
iIt might as well be monopoly money. It amazes me what these billionaires find to spend it on.

But do they use their own money. Or borrow against company assets and make their new company pay back the loan.
They are all as slippery as a bag full of eels.

 

£12m lottery win won't tempt into investing in City, but I may refurb Wakefield Theatre Royal. Love their panto and John Godber.

I am not vindictive though, i would just find out who they were and ban them from VP .

 

From Mr Rupp’s latest letter to supporters:

“I know you will be keen for an update on my intention to purchase the stadium. It remains my desire to have our football club own the ground again. I have had positive and constructive conversations on the matter, but, I am not quite where I would like us to be. ”

What do you think the last sentence means? Doesn’t sound too promising!
