If your buying a football club with the stadium you'd expect to pay more.
If you look back to my original comment it was with regards nothing being made public to which I said that's how it should be.
Apart from Rupp saying he's in discussion with regards buying the stadium were no wiser and IMO that's how it should be, why do fans need to know if we're near to finalising the deal or not that was my point.

We want to know what stage Stefan is at in his quest to offload the club, mate.

So I'd like to know, for one, and for that reason. The closer he is to departing, the happier I am, even if we won't know yet who he is potentially selling to or for how much. An idea of the stage he's at gives us an idea of how long we have to put up with being in his very poor custody.

Once the ground is purchased it makes it a more viable proposition to interested parties.
At the moment owning the ground is a huge step towards finalising any long over due sale.
Hopefully negotiations have moved along since the last meeting in Germany some months ago.

I don't care if he's near to completion of purchasing the ground or not, we'll have a stadium to play in wether Rupp owns it or not, and one does not necessarily go along with the other, why would buying the stadium make a sale of the club any nearer, he's told us he doesn't want to sell thd club but we all know everything has it's price owning the stadium even though it's not owned by the club would IMO be good business by Rupp.

So long as the club rather than one of his subsidiary companies owns the club
If not we are no better off
Personally I would prefer the club to be sold before, and if any potential ground purchase happens

Well the reason Rupp isn't selling the club is because he wants his money back, but he made an incredibly poor purchase.

If he's wanting £10 million, then he needs something to sell, and buying the stadium gives him that. Of course, then he'll want £15 million, and so on, but at least that £15 million would buy the club and the stadium.

And you betcha he wants to sell, just at a price that suits him.

Like him or hate him if it was us in his position I'd think we'd want the best price we could get for the club and ground if he buys Valley Parade.

No different to us wanting market value for our assets Jon. His “mate” mugged him and clearly he wants to maximise a sale. We all would.

    Sure.

But Stefan is involved in a foot race between his ability to get the price he wants, and being forced out at a much bigger loss if he keeps failing.

Reading all the above my understanding is that the six week period only begins once the landlord has accepted an offer to buy the ground. As far as I'm aware no offer has been accepted. I doubt a formal offer has even been made yet.

I would like to think we are a bit further down the road with buying back the stadium.
Surely a ball park figure must have been put on the table by Gibb.

Yes otherwise negotiations would have been ended a long time ago.

That would be if an offer has been accepted. Has there been any confirmation of that?

Happy to be corrected. I honestly don’t know. So will this ‘mechanism’ will remain in place, until an offer is accepted? Are you saying there is no time limit for it to be invoked? I am interested in the process, and where it is up to.

I don't really know Rod other than what I've read. My understanding is that the agreement granted is not time limited. Simply put, if the landlord accepts an offer to buy the ground at anytime, then the Supporters have 6 weeks to come up with a counter offer and evidence that a plan to raise the funding is underway. If the above criteria are met, they then have 6 months to actually raise the funds. In reality, much as we all love the club, all that will happen is it will delay the initial purchasers by 6 months

Maybe a ball park figure has been raised, but as I understand it the 6 week period for the Supporters to raise a counter offer doesn't begin until an offer is accepted

Sarcasms not Aimee at you Broncs .. I am alluding to the notion the open letter was fiction and the stadium purchase was pure fantasy …

The listing lasts five years but can then be renewed. If the owner decides to sell then they have to notify the council who then advertise the fact to allow community groups and parish councils the option to register a interest in purchasing it. If they do then they have six months from when the council was notified to raise the funds. If no one expresses an interest the seller has 18 months from when they notified the council to sell otherwise they would have to open back up for expressions of interest.
