Sad to see Brad go. He’ll we welcome back at any time. He’s certainly up there as being one of our best signings in recent years. All the best Brad!

Another fine servant to the club but times are moving on.

Great dependable player. Never going to have a new contract offered. Great move for him though will likely have to relocate with a young family?

I think this move shows that the club is preparing for a proper go filling the squad with younger more agile players.

Brad confirmed today that he has been in talks with Dundee since before Christmas.

You can see why we brought in Ashby now, this move has been on the cards for almost a month.

Explains the Halliday move. Brad comes out of this according to Alexander as the consummate professional, not surprising as that's the way he's acted in all his time at the club .

His performances weren’t extraordinary in the last month, but they were solid and he gave 100%. A lot wouldn’t if they already knew they were going in January. He played for the badge, he wanted Bradford City to have as many points as possible. Top man, hope he has a great end to his career.

What do you want me to say? Interesting stats though. 250 clearances in 4 years, roughly 60 a year, thats 1 or 2 per game? Doesn't seem a lot for a full back? 700 ball recoveries? What's that? Picking it up to take a throwing?

Let me make it absolutely clear I am not dissing Brad here. He has been a fantastic servant to Bradford City, never gave anything less than 100% and I wish him all the very best. His leaving message above genuinely left a lump in my throat. But I still don't understand those stats.

Brad was my favourite City player, but to be fair, pretty rare I do "favourite" these days haha

Sad to see him go, but not gutted as I think it suits him to go and play in his actual position, and in the SPL no less. Hope he has good success.

Cheers, Brad, all the very best to you!

I would always take a player who is limited in ability but will give you 100% every week, over a player that can take on the world but only do it 50% of the time! Because that makes them equal in ability.

I'm sad Brad has gone. I came back to watching City the season he joined. I'm more sad about this than Cook, because Brad has been playing pretty recently!

Just a side point though, what does this say about Neuf at the minute? Brad's been playing instead of him, while GA knew Brad was off. If it was me i'd play the player who was staying, with no disrespect to the leaving player.

It was a nice gesture by the club to cancel his contract by mutual consent,so that Dundee would not have to haggle over a fee,and maybe they would be able to pay Brad a decent signing on fee.Shows how much respect the club had for him.

Very sad to see him go, like a few it is a bit risky only having a young loanee as back up.

Brad Halliday has been hard working and loyal to this club and deserves all the plaudits he receives. No surprise to me his goodbye message, an absolute professional. Best of luck Brad.

My son works with a lot of Newcastle fans, and they reckon that Ashby is way better than league 1 standard.

I do trust GA and Sharpie but it will feel like jumping out of an airplane with the latest parachute. Nervous. We have to give our new players time to adjust. Brad was planning his football career and had to go for it. Any club will be better off with him at their club.

It would be interesting to know where he thinks his strongest position is.
