Maybe i wouldn't describe as a legend as not really been here long enough but i think he's far better than a steady league 2 player.

 

Just seen that it is a 2 and half year contract. Thats a cracking deal for him, fair play to him.

 

I can’t disagree Wilsden but the deal is great for both parties . He gets a great 2.5 year income going forward which he wouldn’t not remotely get at VP ( 2 years from June) . Time has moved on for him age wise and for those accolades you mention . Hes clearly not going to get them again . I suggested a few days ago that a move for him is on the cards as soon as the Newcastle lad was mentioned . Why would we need 3 RWB’s ?
I keep saying there is no room for sentiment in this game , so why should we keep him taking a squad place and wage out of the playing budget with two younger more technical players ahead of him ?
Being pragmatic , it’s the best move for both parties . Good luck to him and his family for sure .

It mean both parties agree he can leave and take up a new deal. So I’d say we save 6 months wages.

 

I've been critical of Halliday in the past, which is probably a bit unfair because really what I should have been criticising was the over-hyping of him by some fans. What I would say is that he has been a model professional who gives his all whenever he steps on the pitch, even after being out of favour or on the bench. I wish him all the best for his move up North and thank him for his service to the club.

 

Scored some great goals in his time with us.

He isn't a young loan player. He's 24 with over 40 Championship appearances and further experience in the PL, two different European competitive and both of the major domestic cup competitions.

 

alright fair cop..... but Brad Halliday still wasn't the ginger Cafu some made him out to be and equally Luke Hendrie wasn't as bad as some liked to make out. Both honest professionals.

 

Aye both are Premier League footballers this year.

Unfortunately for Luke, he's in the Northern Premier!
