Players have had enough of him it seems. I think as a young coach, he hasn't quiet got the respect of the experienced pros, so the other week they had an away game at Tranmere and he tried the power move of "resting" their captain Charlie Austin. Not only did he decide to rest him, he told Austin not to bother travelling to Tranmere with the squad and to stay home.... so that night Austins wife was liking Swindon fans tweets having a go at Morris.... Austin was straight back in the side after.

 

Can’t wait for it. Hope we start on the front foot like we did at Spotland. Chapman and Banks are they key, as ever. More of the same lads.

 

Blimey he sounds depressed. I bet his team talks are not very inspiring.

Hopefully the players have stopped playing for him and they roll over for us.

She’ll be ok Monkey, these youngsters tend to be resilient.

 

Stockport, Carlisle and Mansfield have all taken 3pts at Swindon recently and with no wins in 9 looks like they are there for the taking.

A point wouldnt be the end of the world considering how we struggle against out of form sides but would probably need to win at Northampton. A win tonight and think we can stand a draw at Sixfields as long as we beat Gillingham and Crewe.

Then its down to Orient game...

 

I think it's going down to the final day, i just hope we are already in those top 3 slots by that point. Bigger question mark over the Orient game is the trophy for me.

I think if the league give them the trophy the weekend before at their final home game, the squad and fans will be much less up for it by the time our game happens. But if they get the trophy at VP, the away end will be packed out and expectant, those players wont want to lift the trophy if they lose to us and our fans have the bigger party in the stands after the game than the league champions.

Not a chance they'll do trophy at VP.
They will win the title Saturday then have it presented to them on the 29th when they have Stockport at home.

 

I'm down for the game as the missus is from there, her cousin is an ST holder and he's saying its been an awful season and the place is completely flat at the moment (all sounds very familiar!). Usually I'm very wary of teams on a bad run as they tend to raise their game against us but it sounds like this lot haven't got it in them at the moment... fingers crossed!

 

Agree, I can't even say I'd take a goal off the referees arse as now it wouldn't count, why don't these people changing the rules leave the game alone and stop their meddling.

 

Looking at the other fans message board, they seem to believe Bradford are the best placed of the teams currently outside the top 3 and see us as the major threat. They think we will win tonight and seem to have more confidence that I do.

Carlisle and Stockport fans appear to hope we finish in the top 3 if they don't as they fancy their chances more against Stevenage.

I can't say what Salford fans think about how it will play out because they don't seem to have any fans.

Swindon fans seem to have this as an away win. They really aren't happy with their team at the moment.

 

I hope you are right , but non of this means anything. Stockport at Orient, when Orient have just collected the trophy isn’t a great omen …….!

 

EFL have previous for it with early crowned champions. Hull in 2021 had L1 wrapped up, final home game had no trophy celebration but they did it away at Accrington on the final day. Same year Norwich had the Championship won by their final home game but didn't get the trophy until their final match, away to Barnsley. Norwich also did the same in 2019 away at Villa, title in the bag well before the last game but couldn't lift it until Villa away final game of the season.

Last few years, most the league titles have still been up for grabs on the final day, but from the looks of it if a team wins it early they are being made to wait to do the trophy lift.

 

That should work for us aswell playing Leyton Orient when they have already won the league.
