We need a better class of abuse. Keep the usual suspects barred, and allow that which a poster can, if challenged, prove to be a copy, or close derivative of, an expression in the classics of literature, broadcast entertainment, or parliamentary records:

"Sir ( or Madam), your post is like a rotten mackerel by moonlight. It shines and stinks!"

Or perhaps there should be a BT-approved list of terms of abuse, such as the East German parliament had for speakers when referring to the British: "paralytic sycophants! effete betrayers of humanity! carrion-eating servile imitators! arch-cowards and collaborators! gang of women-murderers! degenerate rabble! parasitic traditionalists! play-boy soldiers! conceited dandies!"

Actually, this place is pretty good overall. The occasional vulgarity isn't a problem, and no one seems to be using them as the main or only elements in posts. If they come up in passing as in a link, that isn't really a BT poster's problem; if the rest of the link is worthwhile then let it be, I'd say. (Within reason, of course.)
